ChopinSG, 2008 model, (new) red, vtec, ABS

Sorry, very 'newbie'. Can someone add me to the list pls.?

I traded my old Deauville for the above. Great thrust but really not very comfortable. My arms hurt after 10 minutes of riding. Do I make a mistake?

Welcome to the Viffer family Chopin...

Quite a radical move for you to switch from Deauville to VFR but fret not, you'll get used to it. You can switch to BMW grips ($35) for more comfort. You can get bar risers also but that will kill the kick in cornering.

Don't worry too much about the "mistake" thingy.... The fun factor of the bike will outweigh any cons....

Bar riser is one way.

Other is to relax yr grip on the bar and support yr body with yr thigh and stomach & back muscle, relaxing and detaching yr body weight from the bar. this will relieve the pressure on yr wrist and improve yr steering flexibility.

However this will be difficult if you are a long reach from the bar - which brings u back to bar riser.

erm...at the risk of taking some flames...

if it's comfort that you're looking for, isn't the STX a better choice? Just wondering...

Thanks guys!

not so sure changing of the grips will do the job for my back or arms. May be the 'bar raiser' idea is a better. Has anyone done that? And what are the results?

Tks again.

i've a pair of genmar bar risers. work wonders for the ergonomics.

you can try it without the risers as well... just unscrew and lift up the clip-on slightly.

you will probably reach:

260km/h without panniers.

ask stanley :p

Yeah, tried another run at Gelang Patah this morning. Was topping 220 km/h when I had a rude interruption. I mean, what are the chances that a rider travelling at 220 km/h get bird sh*t SMACK in his visor???

Not only was I puzzled, I had to stop cos it STANK!!!!

Dammnnzzzz...

It was my turn last night when I was returning home from my in-laws' place at AMK.

Felt something watery "smacked" onto my right forearm when I was riding along Upper Thomson Road at around 10pm, somewhere near to the previous Thomson Yaohan...

Took a look while on the move and realised it was a "gift from heaven", still a little warm... :giddy: :giddy: :giddy:

Had to slow down, endure with it and prevent it from staining my gloves and rode slowly on the most left lane to the SPC Petrol kisok at Thomson Road.

Turned into the kisok to clean up the "gift" from my right arm and realised, my Tee-shirt also has a few stains of such a "gift from heaven".... :giddy:
