F4 1000 R / R 1+1

Driven by the dynamic force of the new four-cylinder 174 HP engine, the F4 1000R contains the result of seven years of ceaseless technological development poured forth into the most beautiful form ever reproduced on a motorcycle. The subdued sporty tone of its new livery conceals an updated engine equipped with the Weber Marelli 5SM engine management system that turns the extraordinary energy developed by the Italian 4-cylinder engine into a powerful and progressive driving force. An engine, that combined with the massive power of the unprecedented radial braking system and the sublime handling provided by the ultralight Brembo wheels, allows the F4 1000R to ensure its supremacy amongst the elite of the fastest motorcycles in the world

good to know there are more mv owners ard...

is there a great diff in handling comparing S and R version??

theres a lot of difference in the R and S.

It will be a long page if i were to write everything down.

But let me summarise things here.

When an F4R is purchased, you will need exhaust and the Ecu to be changed or else you will fave a surge at 5krpm. Once this is done, the bike will be outstanding and its smooth to ride off and on the track.

F4S with Exhaust and Ecu will be the most complete bike. Handling is fantastic but it loses in terms of technology and some parts like the radial brake and suspension to F4R.

Chk the comparison i have made

F4R,

Bike Cost : $48K

With full system exhaust, racing ecu : $6K

Total $54K OTR ( On the Road )

Advantage:

Its really a bike to look forward. Its definetly better than the S' version with the above exhaust and ecu.

Disadvantage:

It adds to the total cost to solve the surge problem

Additional of $10K compared to the S'version.

Problem yet to solve:

Heat generated. ?? not to be worried

F4S,

Bike Cost : $40K

With full system exhaust, racing ecu : $6K

Radial Brake : $3.5K

Total $49.5K OTR ( On the Road )

Advantage:

Its a complete bike with everything included above

Disadvantage:

It loses to R' in terms of technology and electrical.

PS : Take note, Both with Star Rims as thats mny preference.

Final decision is urs

thnx for the info.. din noe R version needs those tings to work perfectly =)

star shape rims is the icon for mv.. althou the 10 spoke ones are the better ones =)

i had to agree price pays a role for technology.. liek the black R and the red S :lovestruck:

radial pump i believe is one of the main concern for most ppl due to the trend now :thumb:

I wouldnt say its the trend of radial but its more of jerky using the original brakes the accuracy is not there

comparing to the radial its more firm and i would say you can ride at any speed and yet can stop accurately. Very smooth indeed.

But sad to say star rims might be obselete they are more into the Marchesini rims

as Agusta tends to make the bike lighter.

ya.. powerful bikes need better precise brake dats for sure!!! some more with the price u paid for mv bikes.. w/o radial pump seems abit out...

w/o the star rims.. i guess the newer age owners can only drool at the older models with the star rims...

actually even with tamburini or watever exotic limited edition models.. i still prefer the star rims... its juz so catchy....

looking forward for a day to own one S or R hopefully... :cheer:

To own any piece is considered lucky .... every individual piece is special.

Get the S in worst scenerio its worth it .... well its a a waste you sold your 750 but then again i would say the 750 SPR is the best in that category.... simply superb

well i could say the feeling is Totaly different. The response the quality the sound ......

MV is the most sexiest bike.

Comparison of both bike are subjective as each motor has different target characteristics...torque curve vs. horsepower curve. topend vs. midrange. sounds like it comes down to personal preference again.

Getting off the 07 R1 and on to my MV it takes time to adjust to the feel of the machine,

Both bike works well on the track except for the straights where the fairing of the R1 would come into play unless you change your current Fairing to those racing ones.

Personally I would not buy a Japanese motorcycle given a choice. They are very capable without a doubt but usually lacking in soul and character. They are built to a budget, for a purpose without passion or attention to detail.

Useful track, touring, or commuting tools. Usually nothing more!

The Japanese are not bad and have a character of their own, but its just not as good as the MV's.

Mind you im not saying they sucks. they are excellent bike

ya.. i had to agree to wat u say...

normally ppl will say.. with the amount spent on one normal mv f4 1000 s, u can do lotsa mod on the power jap 1 litre bikes.. which may even out perform the stock mv with even lesser den the price u get to pay...

but they will never come close to how a mv feel.. dats for sure...

i still remember a german dude used to rode r1.. and took some time to decide for a used mv f4 750... after he got one... he din regret.. feeling is different.. soul shd be the word..

if i had really more spare cash.. i will settle one instead of a car.. dats one of my dream to try a duke and mv...

art = mv.. duke bcomes more of performance bike now.. but still one of the best twin ard... :lovestruck:
