Good day to all the gurus!

Just a quick question. Is it advisable if I change my tyre and then the next day I use it to track?

Im not a professional rider. Therefore I have no tyre warmers or whatsoever.

And I will be riding from yew tee to pasir gudang. Is it enough for the 'wax' to come out?

Would really appreciate the replies!

the suitability of the tyre model for track use should be a bigger concern than the wax on the new tyres.

some people believe modern new tyres no longer have this 'wax' layer, but others do and the manufacturers don't seem to give a clear answer about the existence of this wax layer, preferring to just cover their a$$ by insisting that all new tyres need a 500km to 1000km scrubbing in period regardless of whether such a wax layer exists.

but to make things simple, lets assume your tyres are suitable for track use and there really is a wax layer. will you scrub it off going from home to PG? no. but doesnt matter, coz you'll scrub it all off within 3 laps of PG. and its actually a good method of scrubbing in brand new tyres. dun forget in pro racing they use brand new tyres everytime; even tho they have tyre warmers and they're on slicks, wax is wax and they still have to scrub it off.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

We put on new tyres... do one sighting lap on it... then we race.

Out of the pit lane, you take the corners in a mild manner but increase the lean angle with each corner.

You will be asking for trouble if you knee down on the first corner you come to with new tyres.

Thanks alot.

Im thinking of changing to the supercorsa bsb. I guess instead of 3 warm up laps, maybe I will do 5 or more.

for the purpose of clearin out the wax, gradually increasing lean is more important than outright number of laps. if you take five laps slow and nearly upright all the time suddenly lap six you chiong knee-down, it is equally pointless. the abrasive nature of the track surface will effectively clear the wax within two or three passes of the tyre surface at a certain lean angle.

for the purpose of warming the tyres, supercorsa should be well into its operating temperature and heat cycle after two laps. in fact if you were using pure road tyres (not a good idea) by 5 laps you might have exceeded the tyre's heat cycle and possibly time to pit. this wont be a problem on supercorsa.

I changed to bsb. $400 at unique. The supercorsa sc2 $520. But I heard bsb the compound abit harder than the sc2. So should last abit longer.
