the instructor at bukit batok driving center said in class that anything below limit+20 is ok. police normally won't catch you for that.

but if they do, and even you are just 1km/h above limit on their radar/meter, then u got nothing to argue with also.

The thing with speed limits is.. It's just a law.. If it says 60kph. U also have to see how accurate is your speedo. Normally some speedos tend to read more than it actually is, maybe that's why people always say drive 10+/- kph around the speed limit. This is the law part.

Here comes the life saving part. If the road is big and it says 60. One might think that for legality sake I'll do 60. But if 90% of users on that particular road are doing 80(if conditions permit to increase speed safely). Then IMHO That said vehicle user is just a target waiting to be hit by a faster moving car.. From my years of experience on the road, always do similar speed limit of what other motorists are doing so that your speed difference with other users are not that big and there won't be surprises in the form of discovering other users at comparatively much slower speeds.

Just my opinion.. Feel free to correct me.

Ride fast..ride safe..don't crash...

sounds like a good road for tp to camp. haha, i think if you wanna do 60 also can just keep to left-most lane should still be quite safe.. but true, some of the normal roads keeping at 50kph is quite ridiculous..

That was example la not having any roads in my mind. Te thing is if u do the left lane thing, sometimes u got those wannabe racers undertake at high speeds, see us at left lane going slow.. Speed difference even more... Sad.. No place to hide.

Simple answer:

Speed limit says 60, that means 60. If you travel a bit above and a TP overlooks it, just count your blessings.

If you're an assh0le, or if he doesn't like your bike or face, he can pull you over for doing 60.0000000001929274637626266383764629987362637.

Precisely - 60 means 60. Nobody catch you / Everyone doing so doesn't mean you are right to do so. That's why when mata is around ppl travel at ridiculously slow speed. :)

When I travel at the road limits, I notice cars and vehicle keeps overtaking me. Some overtake from quite near.

they overtake you bec they wan to change lane and filter out, bikes easier to cut. most cars dont give way. if u dont like it then ride slightly faster than cars, so u can swerve between them

keep overtaking coz u a rd hogger in other motorists eyes, in other words rd nuisance. sometimes this kind of motorists already slow n yet stil braking might s wel stop d vehicle. everyday meet this species on expressway in d morning...

i guess lane splitting for motorcycle is legal in singapore and other south east asia countries. motorcycle does not require full car lane width to ride and that why motorcycle dedicated lanes are much narrower. it is so rare to see motorcycles being stuck in the jam during peak hours because most of them lane splitting.

however, try avoid hard braking on the white lines, especially in the road is wet.

Normal speed limit on most roads is 50km/h, not 60km/h, so be careful! I made the mistake once.

Speed cameras +10 is ok. Some even don't have film/faulty hehehh...

Do you know that riding at 90km/h+ without earplugs is dangerous?
