this game is highly play in western country even when gun-powdered bullet is legal. i wonder why sg got so few people playing?

a friend of mine saw it selling in hatyai for $70, looks like real gun but shoot plastic pellets. The instruction say can shoot 20m. The Safra air pistol shoot metal or plastic pellets?

competition pellet (or also know as bullet) is "lead". mostly is using .177 caliper. (same as during my sec sch days). plastic type is know as BB gun. becos they look like real gun, it is not allow to bring in sg. air pistol actually don't look like real gun. they are also know as pecision shooting pistol/rifle.

after playing with the air pistol, we are suppose to wash hand asap. we don't want to have "lead poison".

i don't know about "can keep" or not. but according the the 3 day basic lesson, the coach say "when you reach a level that you are very good, the club will buy a pistol and special mode the grip to ur hand shape. of cos by then, it will means u are representing the club". ok ok.. i am dreaming now.

the other day at crime watch. it say that firearm look alike bb gun is not allow to bring thru the custom.

the show say if in doubt - walk to the declare section to declare. the most is the item being confiscated.

I wish there is a website or helpdesk or channel for the public to call/view/check about these prohabited item (must be clear info). then the public will not be wasting money buying it and get confiscated at the custom. The info must be very clear to the public.

1 eg of why the info must be clear,

1. the custom got a picture saying knife is not allow to enter sg. (fair enought). but did not state clearly which type of knife or what are the channel to get permit. For eg, a chief (cook) go aboard with his set of kichen knife to work or etc. come back and delcare he is bringing his own set of kitchen knife back. (what if only) if knife is not allow, does it mean his set of kitchen knife need to be conficate?

for a cook, a good set of kitchen knife is very expensive. it is a neccessity tools for a cook too. if the cook know about this earlier, he can leave his kitchen knife set in singapore while he travel aboard to work.

If the premit channel is clear to the cook, (presuming again that kitchen knife is not allow), he can buy a very good set of kitchen knife back to singapore too.

A good set of kitchen knife can cost hundred of dollars. it is kind of silly to buy and surrender at the custom.

** just some thoughts after viewing crime watch. a safe country is a good country. I love sg.

sorry about the "think aloud" writting above.

anyway, firearm and be purchase with valid Licence (valid reason) and at fairly high price.

For eg, competition gun can be purchase and own with a valid licence. (apply licence before purchase arms, i think)

Anyway, why would u want to buy the gun. Just play and have fun with the club's gun will do.

that is true. actually i hear can just buy 1 air pistol and share among 2-3 person. a good pistol don't really need to do a lot of zeroing. then each person will custom make a grip for themself. they just change the grip only. but this will create a problem too. they will not be able to enter the same competition together. hehe... not possible to change grip all the time mah. hehe..

a competition for male are require to shoot 60 pellet. female is 40 pellet.

me school day. competitive is only 3 shot per person. we have to get 3 hole as close as possible to win. now the rule got so many thing to play. 60 shot some more. nice.
