i was at motorworld too at about 1 plus.

Took a pic of this 50%mesh 50% cordura jacket with rib armour. The model is RSJ222 and price is $370 according to sales lady.

 

However when i checked the website below, i am shocked to see that it is not cordura; but heavy duty polyester. So you guys be careful - dun just look at the brand; study the specifications .

Did u try to feel the ce armour of both?

 

I went to poke it and squeeze them a bit..the komine one is rather "thin"

at the side, dont know can rub tarmac for how long

 

Taichi ones quite thick throughout...but color and stlying wise,

Komine roxs.

i think a good hard armour must be hard & yet flexible (can bend without breaking). So Polyethylene material is best. Soft foam material is no use for impact resistant. Hard foam will breaks or disintegrate easily. Unless it is very thick & contained inside a fibre glass shell like the motorcycle helmet. The CE armour is for impact resistant , not for abrasion resistant. Abrasion resistant is taken care by the Cordura outer layer of the jacket.

It has hard armors on spine, elbows, shoulders and chest.

 

Pity thing is it does not have cordura or keprotec. I think it is just one step away from being the perfect jacket.

hi peeps. i'm looking fr a touring jacket that comes with good protection. budget is $300 (or lesser hopefully! ) BUT ... must fit a woman's body nicely. Very few nice and good designs fr ladies. tia !

I have been wearing an RJays Jetstream mesh jacket for the past 2 years and to me, this is adequate given the protection it offers. Had a sideswipe incident once whilst wearing that jacket and the jacket did save me from more serious injuries.

 

Plus points -

1) Cheap. Will cost $145 - 150 from Ah Boy/Regina

2) Cooling. Mesh is not uncomfortable

3) Rain insert included. In inclement weather, can zip up.

4) Big pockets. Can keep passport inside.

5) CE approved armour.

 

Minus Point -

1) Fitting at the hands a bit large, thus armour tends to run.
