Good morning, Sir/Madam

Last night at 0120 am, 08/06/2007 I was passing by Tanglin Halt, car park Q58 when my engine failed me & I had to push my vehicle into this car park(Q58), so as not to obstruct any traffic, to wait for my friend to come & help revive my engine.

This car park is relatively empty at that time, with almost half of the total amount of lots unfilled.

There I was, just standing a few feet away from my vehicle when suddenly your officer, Mr Mohd Rashi, came out of nowhere & place the already printed & ready parking summon onto my windshield.

For all the 20mins that I was there standing near my vehicle, I did not see anyone or any of your officers coming near to my vehicle, checking my season parking ticket & issuing the summon ticket standing in front of my vehicle.

It seems to me that he stood at a distance away to key my license plate number into his terminal to check if my number came up in the system as “valid” & he can conveniently place the ticket on my windshield when he pass by my vehicle later.

This situation really gave me the feeling that I was ambushed & was not even given the chance to explain my situation to your officer.

There I was standing just a few feet from my vehicle & I did have the chance to explain myself.

Therefore I would really hope that this particular parking summon can be withdrawn as I really do feel unfairly treated.

I would also hope to seek your kind understanding that I do not have any choice that moment, but to temporarily park (1 hour tops) at that particular car park while I wait for my friend to help revive my engine.

Thank you for reading this mail & I hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks & Regards

if you do have season parking ticket. your number plate will show up on their terminal. they dont need to physically check for it on your car.

if you car is indeed engine failed, you only need to pop your hood and let it stand so others can see that its a sign that you have engine problem.

And if its really a engine problem, you should include in a copy of the receipt for the payment of repair services for your vehicle to emphasis your plight that it was indeed a broken down vehicle waiting for 'rescue'.

In this kind of situation, Either parties could be at fault.. What ViciousKitty74 has state is part of it.. But if driver has tear a coupon, will the officer see it from so far? To my knowledge, They need to walk to the car, See if there's any valid coupon on the b4 they issue the summon... Driver will no have any receipt as the only state that he call his friend for help(but he will have the receipt if his friend cant help though).. But 1 thing i dun understand is why didnt u open the hood when there's engine problem?
