visit the pondok Java Restaurant at Far East Plaza and the Atrium. the food is OK but the price is not that justifiable.

 

Sanur indonesian Restaurant is gettin worst. Expensive fare but no where close to indonesian taste.

 

For the Ayam Penyet best go the one at Katong or Lucky Plaza. Name of the shop Ayam Penyet RIA price is affordable but the Bakso noodle is soso.

 

There is a Nasi Padang stall along river valley there. Heard the food is authentic indonesian taste. So far none of them came close.

 

Anyone try the Devils curry along the katong area? It is suppose to be a portugese restaurant.

The only Portuguese restaurant that I know of around Katong area is Casa Boom Vento or Casa Di Bento or something to that effect. I can't seem to remember the exact name (forgot liao) but it is located along Joo Chiat Road... :angel:

Saw this Ayam Penyet RIA at Marina Square Food Loft too... Is it the same one you referring to?

 

Steps to do a proper KNNBCCB with middle finger.

 

1. Bow down slightly, looking intensely at objective

2. Like a raging bull, hop and jog slowly towards objective

3. Take your left palm and slap it hard on the right mid-arm with a SLAP!

4. With charisma, raise right arm, whilst showing middle finger (with left palm trapped in bend right arm)

$600+ for >15 people is in fact quite alright lah...

 

Food is quite nice leh...

i recommend SAFFRON CAFETERIA at Tampines BLK 201, behind al-ameen.... people used to call that place 'rumah kuning' or 'yellow hse' frm its yellow tables and chairs and shades....try da mee kuah der...superb!!

The best prata I've tasted so far is at Blk 125 Toa Payoh Lor 2 coffeeshop. The name of the stall is Salam. The curry is fantastic. Talk about it and my mouth starts watering... :slurp:

guys guys hmmm i just found tis thread and its quite interesting t see all the best fod around..

 

here my choice... satay is lps fatman satay.the babat best man..

ayam penyet is at perkampungan at malay village dont know the name..

prata have always been casurina at thomson rd... the prata cheese mushroom is best man .. buta bit ex though...

seafood for the whole family is always chai chee restaurant..

 

some info for u guys... banquet in singapore is infact is under the same boss or family conected to kopitiam..... so how it run....

 

banquet will ask any tenate from normal shop halal or non halal to get them sell thier food at banquet.. for example a famouse chinese char kway teow selller they will offer them a shop in banquet... the set with every thing. they will start seling... but the things all must get the same supplier that banquet get its halal cert from... BUT the only doubt is the utensil that this stall holder use... may not be halal... and they too have to employ one malay uncle or mak chik to help out in the stall..

 

that the story for banquet.. now u know how they run u be the judge whether u feel okay with it.

:btw: I totally forgot about my school's food establishment. The Megabites Cafe located at UniSIM located along Clementi Road, serves 'halal' food that are both good value for money and tastes quite good. The chicken rice only, got a few kinds of sauces cooked onto the chicken. Char siew, honey roasted and some other kinds that I forgot. $2 only and the helping is very generous. The cafe also has a Western menu and Asian menu and uses a card system where you buy, get a chop on your card and only pay at the cashier when you are leaving. It is open to public. Just park your vehicle at the visitors basement carpark and take the lift to the 3rd storey... :)

The food there uses fine quality ingredients.....especially the spices....every friday special Briyani Dham cooked by the owner herself....

 

How i noe?

 

Owner my mum....heh....everyday eat good food....no wonder i'm so......BIG..... :faint:
