I feel that if you can afford to pay him straight then maybe it's best to do so. if claim thr ins company, he might claim more such as loss of use of veh, etc

Actually if its simple paint work and knocking, prob won't cost more than 400 bucks....

 

If you know a good machanic, can try to negotiate with him to go there

Just go to a shop ask the price(which u think is cheap)

then u call the other party and tell him go to your workshop and do.

you pay =) in a friendly manner if not he gonna claim alot of things through the insurance company.Some ppl does that hahaa

I think $800 is oK! My Vios was rear ended by a Lancer.

After going through workshop and insurance, i got a new bumper that cost that bugger $1200 not forgetting that he lost his NCD as well.

I think $800 cheap liao. you will end up paying more if he goes to his workshop.

1.2k is prob cos you went back to the authorised dealer for the repairs.....

 

I had my bumper whacked up by someone and we went to my workshop and got a new one for $400 cos didn't want to cause the guy's insurance to sky rocket....

 

Once the claim is made... you will lose your NCD so you insurance for next year will be higher..

So in the end we settled it at his workshop. left all the documentation and repairs to him. so its him who chopped him. Anyway, it is up to the claimant to decide where the repair works are carried out. So pray hard he don't go to some shop where the prices are high

If no one is injured, then you need to exchange details and take pics of the accident site...

 

IDAC is only necessary if your injurance call for it
