bro, juz layup the bike under ur name. lemme tell u the procedures. since if u transfer the bike to ur dad, he also nv use, why waste the road tax money and insurance money. might as well layup, cause layup dun need to waste road tax and insurance money.

procedure are as follows :

1. find the bike u want

2. decide on the price with the seller.

3. once u guys have decided on the final price, ask for the seller help, to ride the bike down to ur desired carpark(if he cannot, then u will have to tow the bike to ur carpark) and at the same time fix a date for u guys to meet at LTA to do the transfer of ownership. Cause once the bike is transferred under your name with a layup status, u are not supposed to move the bike (even changing slot i believe).

4. buyer, fill in the form for transfer of ownership and LAYUP form. Tell the person u wanna str8 layup the bike after transfer. she will not ask u for the insurance if u str8 away layup.

Transfer fee - 11sgd ++

Layup fee - 5sgd ++

once u lay up, lta will send u the unused road tax in a form of cheque.

Hope it helps.

Going thru all the trouble for a 2B bike that is commonly found in the market is simply not worth it. IMO. Well, i know u r kind of excited to get a bike. but trust me bro,good things come to those who wait. Don't rush it man. I mean u gonna lay it up for a while and we are talking months. that is if u can get ur TP slot fast and if u get to pass first time. Unless its a limited edition piece or a freakishly good offer u cant resist.

with coe shooting up like this best to buy and keep.

If you buy from shop buy and keep at the shop to prevent itchy finger go and take the key and ride..

If you buy from owner get a friend or family member to be the named rider and u be the owner and then when u pass u can add ur name in..

be careful not to ride the bike without license very serious offence.

This is a bad idea. You are talking about a R15, which is a common 2B bike. This only makes sense if you are looking at a limited-production special, like a Desmosedici RR or Panigale R. But R15? :nono: Not worth the trouble and seriously not worth the risks. People always say they can resist the temptation, but it's much tougher than they think.
