Almost got sideswiped by a driver who attempted the signal and lane changing move. Managed to swerve away safely due to the other lane being empty. Driver happened to stop at the next traffic light that I was heading to. Light was red stopped beside him and gestured to wind down the window. Told him I was beside him when he changed lane without checking. Told him its not just checking the mirror but must also check the blindspot. He apologized and so I let it go. Was still angry though.

ITS strange isnt it. How come its human nature to feel angry after the an accident even though after we let it go and ride off. I have encountered this many times before. This is where many road rages people experienced. the deep seated anger feeling has stemmed from many incident and then suddenly explode

I usually worry that 1 near miss may result in an accident if I loose concentration after that near miss so I tend to let it go almost immediately when I'm on bike but will stay angry for awhile longer if I'm driving. Its 2nd nature now... quite funny to think of it

Thumbs up for you to forgive and let go.

This reminds me when I am younger and the time I gotten my class 3 licence...

That one time where I was driving with my p plate sending my sis to work.. the road was empty and I did not check blindspot for that one time. I nearly sideswiped a rider. That uncle rider was so furious and knock on my window and tell me are you p-plate blah blah. I wind down windows and keep apologizing and said I just pass. And kept apologizing... The uncle from furious become ok after confirming my p plate on car.

from then on this uncle taught my a lifetime valuable lesson of blindspot instead during my lesson.

Pretty much. It usually subsides after a while. Usually lingers on for a bit longer when my safety and well being is compromised.

Since the other party has apologized and know what wrong he has done I can of course let it go. Its only those that act blur and still clueless to what wrong they have done that will likely infuriate me more.

Taxi driver incapable/refuse to follow lane marking. Bikes should be equipped with the horn (that vibrates/shakes the vehicle that is horned at) that is supposedly will be equipped on ambulances.

not saying its right, just that this is so common nowadays... we need to learn how to evade them. throttle away at the 1st instance off opportunity

Posted (edited)

Its so common it became somewhat a norm that its not funny. Years ago I had the experience of a driver swerving his car towards me just to see my reaction. Managed to evade and guess what I saw. The driver and his female passenger were giggling. I felt so disgusted I twisted the throttle and sped as far away as I can.

this can be solved if they put those mini humps like those you encounter at the white lane of the road shoulder along the xpressway .

but this will make those bikers going in between lanes more heahache

But then again have seen countless drivers simply going straight when the road has a somewhat slight bend (chicane). Totally ignoring the presence of the vehicle beside and travelling at a fast speed.

TODAY while riding to work at the West coast highway. after west coast park, jam was so bad especailly lots of heavy vehicles. First thing in my mind, must be motorcycle. nearly reaching the pasir panjang wet market. TP was directing traffic. saw this kupchai at the middle of the road and a phantom at the side. a guy of sitting at the side next to the phantom.

i manage to see the fallen bike with malaysian plate. phantom is singapore plate. my brain think back of how malaysian rider dont really care abt checking back.

many times i have been a victim of malaysian riders. they will suddenly creep behind and suddenly they are infront.

nowadays, malaysian are getting richer. kup they dont use anymore. some go for ninja 650 and many i have seen even ride yammie mt9 but the mentality is still the same

I concur. They work in SG many many years already sure can afford. Only difference is they own the bike for a lifetime but we 'own' for a decade after which must pay again to use for another decade. That is if finances and the condition of the bike allows.

while its true they can keep bike for a long time, many of the big bikes, they have to worry abt the spare parts. but being malaysian, they surely know of shops there that can modify.

thats why i am always very perplex. you get honda wave, yamaha cubs zooming at incredible speed that we always suspect that they must have modified the engines , but we cannot do anything about it. sighhhh

I read before that there is an agreement between the 2 countries not to impose each country's vehicle regulations on each other. Some time back, MY police were stopping singapore cars for tinted windows now they can no longer do that. Of course they are still subjected to traffic offences like speeding or running a red light etc

Does not take a genius to know which country strictly abide by the agreement.

haha... but then again, I've not heard of any Singapore vehicles being stopped for window tint or other vehicles mods in MY. U'd be surprise that the actual regulations for window tint is actually stricter in MY than in Sg. lol

Might need to widen your circle of friends. This is for using an aftermarket and LTA approved legal exhaust. How many of those bikes from their country are even using aftemarket exhausts with authentic certificates?

I believe the agreement was made more than 5 years ago. Also the tinted windows issue also dated more than 5 years ago. But then again I am too poor to own a car so I could not be bothered.

Usually they don't chase after Superbikes, poorly equipped to, then again so are our LTA, also they usually accept bribes. Screw them either way, if they want money they will saman your approved exhaust, if they are legit they won't saman you. Simple like that.

er now with the new lane and kerbs and barrier being buillt going into johore via woodlands,

The lanes seem to be the same. Just went in last weekend after a long while. Perhaps the fjr sideboxes too wide?
