this morn came across a fresh road kill of a kitty so sad :weep: along a v jam upp bt timah road. accident just b4 going into the tunnel towards clementi on e right lane. stressful cos i nv like to see things like tat and i always try to avoid it and go past looking in front just in case it's a bike accident. didn't see any bike but just a not so badly smashed up rear of car and TP bike and e driver. as usual all e rubber neckers slowed down on e left side. i squeezed past all of them and traffic was clear as hell in front!

guys do ride carefully if u r heading towards tat direction.

cars really suka suka change lane, see bike coming just makan into e lane and when u need to change lane they dun wan to give way and just speed up....really inconsiderate and i guess tat is why accidents happen. of course not all e time it's due to drivers fault but these days as there r more cars on e road, drivers get impatient w e jam and trying to change to a lane w lesser cars w/o due care. seeing alot of tat esp during peak hours.

if u had taken out ur hand from de window to signal u wan change lane , i will always give way , but knn , u not change lane slowly , u dash out 45 degree straight away from de bus stop to go to the other side.

anyway dis is my 1st bad exprience with sbs bus , usually they will stick out their hand out of de window to ask for other road user to give way to them , or sometime when i squeezing thru can see that they move aside abit to give way to me , or at traffic light they wait for me to move off first then then move off.

knn young idiot sbs driver , damn heng i didnt end up below his double storey sbs bus.

This morning traffic is very good. Not much idiotic drivers/riders around. If you are one of those "idiotic drivers/riders", please enjoy your holiday and when you come back again on Wednesday...

Do drive & ride safe! Happy holidays people! :cheer:

Just a few days back, my mrs and I was exiting TPE into CTE when a car in front of us suddenly slowed down and filtered left without signalling. We almost bang into her cos one moment the driver was travelling at a constant speed and the next, slowed down. When we passed the car, it turned out that the woman driver was talking on her HP. How I wish TP was there at that time...

Hmmm seems like road behaviour in Singapore is still the same.

Flew out of Phoenix this morning for Dallas Fortworth. Took a 3 hour coach ride down to Louisiana and am now in the hotel using their computer.

A 200 mile journey and only saw two Harleys on the highway. Bikes are rare here in the USA or am I in the wrong place???

Very hard to get onto a computer at the moment and yet to fully settle into my own apartment. Mebbe in 3 weeks time when I get back to Phoenix.

Take care guys and gals. Ride smart, ride safe.

PS - Best regards Lass, and to the rest of the bikers I know.

some interesting thing to read

http://www.onemotoring.com.sg/publish/onemotoring/en/on_the_roads/traffic_management/new_elderly_friendly_traffic_system.MainPar.0003.Image.gif

Imagine the traffic lights opening their eyes to check out for elderly pedestrians.

No, this is not some War of the Worlds scenario. This is an innovation from Land Transport Authority (LTA) designed to detect elderly pedestrians crossing the road. Called the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system, this technology will allow elderly pedestrians to finish crossing the road safely before the red man light comes on.

When the RFID readers mounted on the traffic light poles detect elderly pedestrians crossing the road, the system will extend the 'green man' timing, giving them an additional 5 seconds to cross.

LTA will be testing this system at the junction of Toa Payoh Central and Toa Payoh Lorong 4, where intelligent studs have already been installed. The test trial, which will involve 30 elderly pedestrians, is expected to last 9 months.

This system will greatly benefit Singapore's increasing ageing population, who are at risk to road fatalities because of their slower walking speeds.

Accident statistics from the Traffic Police showed that one in two fatal traffic accidents last year involved an elderly person. After the trial has concluded, LTA will consider extending this program to the other 1,900 signalized pedestrian crossings in Singapore.

We cannot rely on just engineering solutions to enhance pedestrian' safety. All road users play a very important role. As a motorist, you can play a part by exercising patience, especially to the elderly. We can all help to reduce the risk that they face on the roads.

i seriously think, apart from our "friendly" sg car drivers, ppl who are driving buses, lorries, vans are much worse. They are not supposed to speed and they have a speed limit to adhere to. but, unless there is a TP somewhere, these ppl seems to speed like nobody biz. Share this incident.

While on my way home along PIE, i approached the split road for KJE and PIE. Checked my mirrors, can't see any vehicles on my right. so i signalled right and using the soft change lane method, i slowly filtered into my right to enter PIE. i checked my bind spot, about 30m back there is a bus, so i accelerated a bit and to my horror, luckily i checked my bind spot again to confirm before moving fully into the lane, the bus roared past me, causing me to swerve back to my left and its only inches away form me. (and lucky no cars on my left) and i was already travelling at 80km/h... the least that idiot could do is horn right... want to murder a harmless rider on a small bike meh... really dun understand why ppl nowadays dun practice giving of way. its more like who-ever-drives-a-bigger-vehicle will get his right of way. oh come on... really, where are the TPs when we need them? and TPs targets bikers! this is even worse!

c'est la vie~

Looks like I got to take my words back.

Last night we finished work at about 2 AM and were driving back to the hotel with the heater cranked to full blast in the MPV. Temperature outside was 3 degrees Celsius.

At a traffic light, I saw two guys riding past. Both on Suzuki 1000 K6s.

Although they were dressed up till they looked so puffed up..... but really... would you go riding around at night when the temperature is only 3 degrees above the freezing point????

Only goes to show one thing.... Suzuki riders are nuts!!! :sorry: :faint:

Went out for lunch with my guys this afternoon. Whilst stopped at a traffic light.. we counted of the 17 cars that drove by.... 9 of the drivers were driving whilst talking on their handphones.

Our TPs in Singapore will be having a field day here in the USA. :faint:

Correction my dear Princess....

A leopard can change its spot.

It can move from this spot to the next spot.

A leopard on the other hand cannot change its spots.

Just feel like disturbing you lah...:sorry:
