was riding back from work this afternoon, i saw a traffic police turning right into TPE towards SLE.

was riding in the 2nd lane at about 80km/h as traffic was slightly heavy when i spotted a blue nissan lorry beside me on my right (1st lane). i thought he was just overtaking but he continued on the right lane. near the overhead bridge near sengkang, i spotted the same traffic police whom i saw turning into TPE standing there. the lorry driver must have spotted him the last minute and try to swerve into the 3rd lane. fortunately for me, i anticipated that and kept way back. he almost caused a collision while doing that.

at a blink on a eye, the traffic police was already in my side mirror with sirens blaring and fairy lights on, chasing the lorry down.

Oh yea Long live TP lolx

I will not want to regret in my life when i look back when i am old man.

1) You're in the wrong by parking on the pavement already, and you still go and be even more antisocial by revving your bike at pedestrains?

2) You could have given way, and both of you would have gone past that area faster. You chose not to be gracious and prove your lack of basic road courtesy.

3) How fast were you travelling in the carpark? What if a car reversed from your 'blindspot'? Who's going to be screaming afterwards?

Eh Neo, in senario 2, I don't think its fair of you to second guess her judgement in what are usually 50 50 situations. Its a fine line between having time to practice courtesy and being compromised. But you're spot on in situations 1 n 3. Totally avoidable situations with some tolerance. Agree with other riders, live and let live.

Each rider has his/her own path to maturity or heaven (express ticket), and in self righteously slapping "live and let live" on other people's face, it shows how the preacher lacks just that little bit of "let live". A kind suggestion works a longer way.

We could all use a forum to influence other younger riders' attitudes and impart experience. This is appluadable, but few are able to do so constructively, in a palatable manner that does not hint of "I'm holier than thou". If you manage this then u must be right up there already. Lets work towards that

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

Do anything, anywhere you want... just don't get caught.

There is no right or wrong... just differing opinions and everyone is entitled to their own.

Point is... you better know what you are doing.

What may appear to be a dangerous act to some, may actually be a normal routine for someone who is practiced in it.

Bottom line is.... ride safe everyone.

I think we can be a little more liberal to this safety thing. Playing on an empty road and practicing your skills such that u are more proficient in handling when the sh*t hits the fan is all good. You can be the most uptight rider about safety and your passing comes from the most innocent "safe" situation.

In reality, playing in an empty road without kerbs and barriers and after you personally checked there are plenty of clearances for falls is akin to honing your skills on the track. By the same token, we hone our skills on the track, but hope that superior judgement on the streets do not call for our superior skills, if we are as good as we really think we are...

Raptor is not your average rider. He knows what he is doing and do note the different culture and terrain in the states calls for a different understanding of the situation.

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

Everyone has different definations of safe riding. But do not confuse unsafe riding with antisocial behaviour. It is those antisocial bikers who give all of us a bad image.

Playing on a motorbike anywhere could also cause death. U going to quit because of that possibility?

Wah lao....i ussually play corners at night..

thats is but i rarely go out at night..

but somehow....yesterday early in the morning from airport going into tampines i decided to brave the corner... that is one wide corner

i wasnt going lower as per normal going low corner...

just a normal banking...but i did however hit the 140km/h mark...

but you should know some meter aint accurate,,,

anyway as the corner exited i should have realised i would have been going wide...

but i forgot..

....there was a car on lane 3...

immediately i bank in further...i could see the driver's face clearly stricken..

my wide turn that was supposed to go the 3rd lane now managed to squeeze in whats was left on lane 4 missing the dotted line by inches with my racing footrest just scraping the ground.. before i got my self upright

then i realised

GOD DAMN it.............I COULD HAVE BEEN IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT...

whew...

When you find something worth dying for, you find something worth living for. Having said that, better to pass away from old age with a full life of memories  and chuck that stupid thought of passing from a bike ride...

Bro... my hair stand when I read your post.

The public road is not a place to play like it was the track.

Unless, if you can be lucky like me to find a gated community which only has the roads paved but houses not up yet, like the property that belongs to a millionaire property developer friend of mine. If you look at the first pic I posted... you can see the closed entrance gate in the background.

There are plenty of such developing lots in USA... doubt you can find such a place in land scarce Singapore.

I strongly encourage you to go to PG if you like to play corners.

Ride hard, but please ride safe. :thumb:
