guys guys...im not arguing to say im wrong or right....

guess i deserved to be flame for doing stupid things on the road with/out a pillion...its not the 1st time...

or maybe the WRX deserved his lesson...

in any case i wont take to heart the comments...

but i really resent being called names like arseholes..

really just keep the name calling to yourself...

cause the story is about "today while riding..."

My bad... if you feel bad.

I said "act like antagonistic arseholes". Not calling you guys arseholes.

Well, when I'm riding alone, I can be a real arsehole too, especially to cars or other bikes who persistently disturb me.

When I first started this thread many years ago... I was behaving like an arsehole. Its in my first post... I let my ego control the throttle.

Lived through a few accidents... finally went to the tracks and realised how dangerous things can become in seconds when you let your ego control the throttle and also learnt about my personal limits of bike handling.

Nowadays.. I ride like a pussycat on the roads... totally defensive and conservative.

In short... I became wiser as I got older coz I learnt from my mistakes.

On the tracks... its another story altogether.

No, no. I don't use the throttle. I use hand gestures to indicate my displeasure. Giving the other guy the bird and then seeing the expression on his face is so much more fun.

Do yourselves a favour, get a handy and compact automatic Centre Punch, push it lightly against the irritant's Tempered glass window.

had my first fall on my way to school today, after abt 4 mths plus.

the ground was a lil wet, and the traffic was pretty heavy along clementi road from bt timah. i was travelling a lil close to the vehicle in front of me. at a moment, i had to brake to slow down, and then ended up fishtailing for 1 to 2 seconds, and PAM! my bike dropped on the left side. luckily i was pretty covered and travelling at a relatively low speed. Crashbar took most of the damages..

No la........... . I'm just praising and acknowledging the other guy. At those kind of road speeds... the thumb is too short to be noticed.

My thumbs-up :thumb: is not noticeable enough.

So I use the longest appendage on my hand to send the other party my gesture of friendship. :cheer:

Me Phantom rider also. I know that it's quite prone to skidding that's why Phantom riders have to be stingy on the application of rear brakes! Use more of front brakes.

Thank goodness that the fellow managed to gain back control of the bike!

Biking is something that everyone can learn and enjoy! :goodluck:

yesterday.. i was at idac...

saw an sp towed in...

the uncle who brought it in then had a conversation with me.

i found out..

that it was the bike that had an accident at a TPE..

2 lives were lost. Both 19.. male and female.

was a P-plater...

apparently, the bike broke down and they were at the road shoulder waiting...

a lorry then ramp into them...

when i saw the wrecked bike.. i was.... :giddy:

the front looks ok.. just that the handle bar a bit off and the tank with some dents..

the other parts of the bike... well.... the seat was not there.. the tail too...

all was left of the back was just the rear wheel... it looked just like a bicycle..

there were stains of blood on the bike..

The tree-lined avenue

Begins to fade from view

Drowning past regrets

In tea and cigarettes

But I can't seem to forget

When you came along

Ingenue, I just don't know what to do

That's exactly the reason why, when I stop by the E'way shoulder to take cover from the rain, or to put on the raincoat, or for whatever reason... I get off the bike and stand near the railing/barricade.

If a runaway vehicles comes, I jump over the barricade.... never mind the bike gets smashed to pieces. Better it than me.

I can always sue/claim for another bike.

I support the idea of P platers being banned from taking pillion.

Need to lower your rear brake pedal some. Give it more play so that you have to step it alot more to get full braking power.

There is too little play now which is why it is so sensitive.

For that matter... I seldom use the rear brake...only to initiate a rear wheel slide for the corners on the DRZ whilst on the tracks... other than that, its all front brake.

Finally...... after one year nine months... I finally saw another DRZ400SM on the road, a yellow one.

He was going the other way and started waving his hand in the air as we approached each other. Waved back and we both turned back and look at each other whilst giving the thumbs up. :D

Riding is not a passion nor a hobby. It is something far beyond that. Its Mythical.
