today is the worst day of my riding.

about to go home after appointment at SGH, it rained heavily. wasted 2 hrs for the rain to stop. while exiting car park, 2 lovers walk in middle of road, aunty walk also like nobody business, make me really practise my slow speed control - i nvr noe so damn important later... by the way, rain drizzle at SGH, heavier and heavier along the way and stopped when i enter car park... duh...

out of carpark, kena trail one stupid driver who is going at 20km/h all the way, over inclined road, slope and pot holes... dammit!

reach Tiong Bahru, self skidded.

along Commonwealth Ave West, middle lane again force me to slow speed control. see no car on right most, cut out... wahlau, taxi driver just in front of me also cut out with no signal and jam brake! almost want to give him middle finger, but realise middle finger hurting from self skid - basket...

turning into Bukit Batok Ave 1, again kena slow speed control - basket lorry doing illegal u-turn...

turning into CCK way, wtf with so many lorries!??? KENA SLOW SPEED CONTROL AGAIN...

finally, home stretch, thot everything OK, suddenly 4WD in front jam brake, then swing left and right and stopped by side!

reach home, realise knee so painful cannot stretch, so jialat. goin to sleep now, hopefuly nothing worst...

Hey brother, I'm sorry to hear of your self-skid incidents. Take the time to rest and be really thankful that you are not hurt too badly from it. And I'm glad to hear that you are still able to reach home safely.

If the pain persist, do go for treatment. If you can get an X-ray, it will be all the better.

After everything is over, you might want to consider wearing knee guards for your riding. I'm wearing a Komine knee-shin guard everyday for commuting around SG. It doesn't take very long for you to wear them and it's convenient. Do give it a thought as the knees are the 1st areas to get hurt in accidents.

Do note that I'm not trying to advertise knee guards here. It's just that I can't help but advise people to wear knee guards as I've seen too many riders getting very serious knee injuries from accidents like this.

Take care bro! And rest well! :thumb:

Biking is something that everyone can learn and enjoy! :goodluck:

today while riding into the slot of the carpark, front wheel skidded cuz of the stupid oil patch on the floor..sigh.. what the heck!

Oh dear! I hope you are fine! Yup... carparks are one of the dangerous spots for skidding. The carpark at my workplace is so slippery during rainy days that it's virtually impossible for me to move my bike while sitting on it. I've got to get out of the bike and hand push the bike into the lot... :giddy:

Call me an otaku, but if possible, i try not to ride on Saturday. it is the worst time of the week to ride.

1. LTA think no one is driving/riding and block here block there to do digging work.

2. Your neighbour wife/son/daughter who takes BMW suddenly started driving with their half pail of water driving skill.

3. Cyclists think it is a good time to cycle

4. Lorries trying their very best to earn the last buck (despite knowing the Causeway will not let them through so easily).

Today, almost knock down an idiot cyclist at Bukit Batok Ave 1 and along CCK Way. Gave me the worst fright ever. The cyclist at Bukit Batok Ave 1 was wearing a ear piece some more. The cyclist on CCK Way was a lady rider who just kiss goodbye with her boyfriend. (basket!) Jam was along Bukit Batok Ave 1 becos a lorry was following slowly after a cyclist.

Along Boon Lay Way, going there kena overtake by an uncle who split lane(!) Estimated speed - at least 100km/h - up the slope. Suddenly he slowed down desperately, why? Police car in front.

Going home, lorry on left lane, mercedes (weekend plate) on right, I was in the middle. Suddenly, both signal to cut to the middle! wah lau, i pressed my horn for at least 5 minutes, then they all stop their horrible attempt to sandwich me.

Next saturday, i wish i could stay in bed the whole day, but i need to go back to office...

WTH.... urs was actually a killer. but mine is different bro. i like to ride on sat rather than weekdays. on sat traffic frm pioneer rd north to jln buroh was much better than weekdays.. as for weekdays i tell u bro the traffic was HELL. i hate it. no matter which direction, still a lot of vehicles. the baddest moments r the malaysian kupkias n taxis. they rode like they own the roads.

What does being an Otaku have to do with not riding on Saturday???

There are Jap animes on TV that you're fanatically crazy about on Saturday?

It's not just the treads.

Even if the treads are still deep, any tyre older than 2 yrs should be checked for the changes to the tyre's compound. They harden over time and lose grip, treads nonwithstanding.

Along KJE just now, had to avoid a drifting black garbage bag shashaying across the 4 lanes. Had no chance to avoid as there cars on my left and right so hit straight on... praying them the bike will go over it and not let it stick to the exhaust pipe header.

And I have seen a bike that had a garbage bag melted onto its exhaust header... its not a pretty sight and its not easy to clean off.

Luckily the DRZ engine is high and I have an aftermarket skid plate on so it deflected the bag downwards and out the back after the back wheel went over it.

Then it flew up and planted itself onto the front grille of the pickup truck that was following close behind.

I guess the driver will be wondering why the engine temperature is climbing up higher and higher as he drives along.

today while riding home, stupid LTA closed 2 lanes of Commonwealth Ave West forcing all vehicles to squeeze into one lane. when the hell r they going to finish the surprse road closure???

after parking my bike, when about to cross the road, saw this white car coming very fast, so look at it for a short while. car driver wind down window and give me middle finger. then he drove forward a bit, open his door and yelled "Si mi dai ji!", banged the door and drove off like a madman. what is wrong today...

sian today pants got gt85 smell. i saw the review on gt85 on plastic, so happily spray all over my plastic area. ended up it didnt evaporate that fast, like kerosene, got the stinky smell . . no choice . . meeting friend, lan lan had to mount on bike. glove stinks also, i spray on the handle grip also. guess tml is a washing day for me

abit regret buying the gt85 now . . -_- it does clean the chain pretty well but i dont think i would be using to clean my shroud anymore

i even use it to clean my header when my bike is cold. after seeing it doesnt evaporate fast, im really afraid it would catch fire sia. had to wash and clean the header alot of times with clean water before i dare to move off

Wow.

Everyday seems to be a sh1tty day doesn't it?

Wonder why some of you don't just take the bus instead....

i did but it was abt 5 stops fr office to bikeshop to collect my bike hehe....even if it rains (provided it's not super duper heavy), i rather put on my raincoat and ride.

personally i dun like e bus & mrt cos of the squeeze and how ppl are pretty rude in trying to rush into trains when you are trying to get out. i think top of e list for me, is that i dun hv much patience for the slow ride and waiting time.

will only take it if i really do not have a choice.
