Rappie! I'm back! 4 aprilias and 1 rvf went up, all returned home safe!

1x aprilia and the rvf went home solo halfway thru the journey back as they've got some appointments to go to at night. 3 of us detoured to Air Panas Gadek (Hot springs), Air keroh for A&W and 1 emergency stop at Kulai for petrol. But everyone made it home safely.

Welcome home Bro... glad you guys all made it back safely.

Heard that 2 Hayabusas were stolen on that weekend.

today while riding.... was on south bridge road just outside boat quay when this BMW tailgate me till very close. then tried to overtake me by the left but there is a stopped taxi (just after the boat quay bridge) knn just forced his way over to my lane without signal. luckily i anticipated and slowed down already. just let the bugger cut in lah. cos in a good mood cos my gf just :smooch: me goodnite before heading home. so still in cloud 9 :cheeky: and cant be bothered by such idiot

 ok la, let him rush through, not through u!

This morning, an electric bike nearly accident infront of me.

The Chinese lady rider, cut across the junction from the Yishun Stadium to Lentor ave when the lights turned green on my side. (ie Her side Red, 30 secs, for cars from Lentor to turn, followed by other side red then pause, all 4 sides red, before my side turns green. Total time for her to react approximately 45 sec.)

But she simply ride across, luckily, the car in front of me alert and only roll off the stop line and braked before going into the junction. I also brake heavily. In my mind I thought if the car on my left never see, move off normally, then "Ho Say Liao"

On my way home, I checked back before moving off, saved my from colliding into another bike that creeped up on me to zoom off after the red light.

yesterday while riding, i was feeling cheeky and bored. i was riding along bt timah road and i realised that there are a lot of speedster who treat it like a normal expressway. what's the speed limit there eh? anyway,

1st incident: i saw a red light so i slowed down when suddenly, a very fast white mitsubishi lancer car(very sporty design) came into my side mirror behind me, changed lane, then cut back into my lane and hard braked some more. i just casually lane split, blow throttle when i'm beside him, wave goodbye and and gave a stupid grin to him as i overtook him all the way to the front of the pack. as expected, when the the lights turn green, he overtook like siao all the other cars including me, zig-zag here and there just to 'lead' the pack only to stop at the next red light. and i repeat the same procedures to him. that was the last i saw of him at the next traffic light. young p-plate drivers really have a big ego eh?

2nd incident: a lamborghini was overreving (aka making his presence known) as he tried to overtake cars when there's clearly no space. i did the same thing. i clutch in, whack throttle and slow down as i lane split past him. but the difference to what i did is by using hand signals to him, i point to his car, shaked head no, hand with S-wave motion, 'cannot' signal. same thing happened after that, when got chance, he whacked throttle and is gone! that car is really fast!

3rd incident: got 1 car at traffic light play with his half-clutch. move forward and roll back a few times. i looked at him, did the same thing. as we waited for the green lights to change, he accidentally roll off too far when one side of the perpendicular traffic stopped for the other opposing side to move off. he kena horn like siao. as he reversed back behind the stop line, i gave him a stupid grin. but when the lights turn green for us, he moved off slowly, perhaps scared he's wrong again! hahahaha...

interesting thursday for me!! this is one of those times where i enjoy riding bike. heavy jams and clear traffics only make a difference of 5-10 minutes only. i only wish that there are lesser traffic lights on singapore roads. just like bt timah road.

Yesterday, when i was going back home turning from mac to kallang baru. It one lane thro and fo, there these @#@$% female driver stop at the T-junction intend to turn to the road i'm going just the oppsite direction. I'm moving quite slow then, about 50km/h. She saw me coming, just about 3 meter way she move out. I quickly slow down further, she stop again pertend to check right and left again like nothing.

Damm.. it make me mad, it not because i'm going somewhere, i'll stop infront of her and ask her to band me.

I'm not trying to be rude, but please it doesn't mean that you are female driver, i need to give way to you. It not saying that i'm not gentlemen enough, it have to depend on the condition also. Don't tell me i have to stop for you just to let you cut opp, with all the car behind me. When there is only one car behind you. Crazy.

U really gotta watch out for Lancers or Evo. Usually aggressive drivers. Anyway, how do you know if he's playing or in a hurry? When I'm in a hurry, and I really mean late for an important appt, I have the tendency to ride very aggressively without even realizing it. I have cut off other bikers with nary a bike length not intentionally or with any bad intentions, but because I was too focused on getting to my destination.

Playing with the Lancer might just provoke him into doing something stupid that might cause an accident for you or others. My suggestion is to let anybody in a hurry just go. It doesn't matter to you anyway. :D

As for the Lambo, they're usually just plain loud. Even at idling. Even a slight blip of the throttle. No point gesturing at him. It's like coming up next to a Ducati 1198 with Termignonis who's lanesplitting fast and then gesturing at him "WTF u doing and WTF u so loud for"?

Exotic cars and bikes overheat in slow traffic. And Italians aren't known for their exceptional reliability. The last thing these owners want would be for their exotica to break down in heavy traffic because of overheating.

Very the sia suay and troublesome.

if big bikes, i have no prob. they can still squeeze in here and there. but most lambo drivers are just plain snobbish! i have no complains about their engine sound. it does sounds loud and nice. but over-revving, isn't that too much? might as well use the horn to get others to give way.

tell me about it. those lancers are really capable of tailgating. i've been tailgated so many times by imprezas, lancers, evos and surprisingly honda fits!! when on expressway, i rarely use lane 1 but tailgating at clementi ave 6, bt timah road and these kind of normal roads are too much! expressway's speed limit is 90km/hr. but these roads? i believe it's at 70km/hr. i ride at 80km/hr and yet was always tailgated. but some really do have the balls, they just charge down at you, lanesplitting in the process. and that's when i have no choice but to give way.

ahahaha!! ya! tell me about it! so many times, these drivers drove fast to impress. but when it comes to 90 degrees turn, they braked so early and negotiate the turn ever so slowly. got balls to go fast but no balls to corner fast.

and that's all they are capable of scaring. either tailgating or over-revving or braking until got that cool pressure sound. even on an auto car. i just don't understand.

You are a bit too biased.

Any performance machine is able to zig-zag in and out of lane. A bike can do it, but that doesn't mean it's right. Everytime us bikers squeeze left right, we're actually committing traffic offenses. From the POV of a driver, we're dangerous nuisances.

Now, if a sports car can do quick lane changes it is snobbish and wrong?

Let's not have double standards OK?

I've seen Porsche drivers who can zip in and out of traffic quickly, smoothly, expertly and safely too.

experienced almost th same thing..

after work on wednesday, just finished buying dinner ... with my big bagpack, 2 styroform boxes of durian tied behind me, and 3 boxes of dinner i put on my tank, i rode out (i was riding on pavement hehe) and stopped beside a white subaru. seeing me on a pathetic sportsbike, he began to rev, and rev, and rev till th lights turned green. its really irritating laa ! then guess what, he turned left SO SLOWLY .... zzz ... whilst i just move off slow and steady, heck care about him.. pfft~

----

today whilst riding ...

2 accidents in 1 week. *sigh*... skidded this time around ..and i wasn't lane splitting, just riding "cautiously" and slowly cos it was raining .. car in front suddenly jammed brake and i tried to stop, but fishtailed, and i jammed on my brakes and skid, and fell, ON LANE 1 AGAIN .. at PIE before bukit timah ... thanks to the chinese rider who helped me up and help pick up my bike, thanks to the malay despatch rider who stopped and made sure i was okay ..

the funny part was, after skidding, and riding off, i went ... OH SH*T , i left my island pass inside locker, how to go to work on monday !

scary eh, even bfo skidding, i could feel my rear tyres go left right ... why ehk? tyres no good huh ?

when i stopped at flyover, some guys were looking at my bike... surely in their mind .. "fwa, this girl's bike jialat ..."

Poor thing. The bike, i mean. :sian:

When it starts to move left right, its already a warning signal to ease off the brakes. Wait till you feel the slide and its usually too late to do anything. Braking strength needs to be applied in a more controlled manner during wet weather....

:faint: u're right nightsteed. thr was a couple of times when i look on my side mirror, a wish & '09 lancer sped pass me at almost 150+kmh i guess. i was riding at 10+kmh & a wish driver flash the high beam a couple of times at far distance. once a signal has been made, i move to the center lane to let em thru. they were bloody fast a tom & jerry look-a-like... :cheeky:

Simply put it, how we wish ALL the road users here drives like how it is in the North South Highway.. Its so much better there especially in the day time. You can see that lane 1 is always clear and ready for someone to do overtaking.. Maybe LTA or TP should stick the "KEEP LEFT UNLESS OVERTAKING" signs in the middle divider every 5km on all expressways.

no need drift la. i've seen vans doing smoother and faster turns than these sportscars. don't tell me these sportscars' handling are worse than that of vans.

erm..... unless stated, normal road's speed limit is 50km/h nia.

for bt timah road, i think it's 70km/hr on most of the stretch right?

if they can do quick lane PROPERLY and SAFELY, i have no problem. but i do have a problem with cars purposely tailgating to overtake or cars who invade my 1 sec gap(not even 2!!). but then again, at least when i squeeze left and right, i use my signal lights to indicate. these buggers can afford to buy expensive cars but can't afford to use the signal lights? how ironic.

isn't the first lane for overtaking? why the heck would you ride at 90-100km/hr all the way?

yeap.. then u wont have ambulances stuck on the highway where everyone is trying to lane change to give way to the ambulance ...

already this week, i rode home and on 2 days , there were ambulances blasting their sirens, and practically all of the cars around that ambulance was trying to lane change. some wanna lane change from 1 to 2 , some 2 to 1, gave me a heart attack most of the time. obviously lane splitting was a no-no in this situation, and even as i kept to my lane behind cars, my heart was pounding heart.. heh !

dont think. next time u ride along bukit timah rd, u go see the speed limit okay ? ahaha ... bukit timah rd is where eh? the long stretch with many2 bumps eh? the road uneven tat one ?

90 to 100 eh, that one sure kena tailgate ! i ever... lane 1 riding 120, kena high beam by taxi ... well, obviously that was BEFORE my accidents ...

travelled from tamp > jrg west > wlds > back to tampines. all took 4 hours. :faint: and the bus got one kind of musty smell ahh, luckily never vomit inside bus .. hehe ...

ride safe everyone... wet weather nowadays ... just park your bikes at your carpark and take public transport to work / school okay ? i have several friends who also got into accident this week. sighhhh ....

You are dead right on that.

Actually drifting slows down the overall speed, because although they are fast in the turn, during the drift the tires loose traction, ie: the car is not able to accelerate during drifting. And after the drift, the tires have to get back their traction before they can accelerate off.

So a car going fast, smoothly round the corner, at the edge of it's tire's gripping power, before it starts to skid, can accelerate sooner and reach the destination faster if it doesn't drift.

Motorcyclist are the nicest people on the road, try not to kill us.
