Give and take. On bad days, sometimes I feel like I ride like a prick so I give other road users the benefit of the doubt too.

Give and take is one thing. Having people always taking and never giving is another. Only reason I am now upset by these drivers swerving and cutting lanes with no signals or checking is because the last time it happened I woke up in a hospital after a 2 days coma and had to decline the job I wanted so much due to it. There is more but I shall not say it out. Hence why I do not see why its wrong of me to be upset about it.

Took bus today. Was in the bus at telok kurau and this lady cyclist pillioning her child just decided to cycle cross the street when light was in favour of the bus. Bus had to e brake and horned. Almost everyone was thrown out of their seat. Thankfully no one was hurt. The lady can still calmly cycle as though nothing happened. Lucky took public today as its raining right now.

My horn went haywire & kept honking by itself although I did not press it, as posted here.

I'm here to apologise to the bikers, who I "honk" this morning on AYE(Tuas).

Check the connections and dry it up. It could just be a minor short circuit. The horn should not work unless the ignition is turned to ON. Hope it helps.

Right. Today while riding. Saw one 660 tenere that didn't give way in peak hour traffic. Then saw a GS 1200 that very kindly did. Then saw a kup Kia accident on the slip road up from PIE to Sims ave. yea.. So far...

Ride fast..ride safe..don't crash...

Saw an aftermath of an accident near Alps Avenue along Changi Coast. A car might have probably decided to make an illegal U- turn or might hsve been speeding as that location is well known for such. Car was smashed from almost every side and ended on the grass patch.

Rode to town and a group of cyclists decided to make a right turn from the double yellow lines on the most left lane on a quite busy road. Sure they did signalled but then just turn in front of a taxi after giving a signal. All the vehicles behind the taxi on all lanes had to suddenly drop speed even stopped and started pressing their horns but the cyclists can just act as though they had right of way. No wonder there is an increasing number of accidents involving cyclists recently.

Not such an exciting ride but I am glad its not.

True, I've seen many cyclists doing right turns at cross junctions together with the right turning vehicles

At the very least its a cross junction. The one I saw was neither at a junction nor pedestrian crossing. Apparently these cyclists simply wants to get to the other side. The way they are doing it will literally get them to the otherside which is the nether world.

Many times, a biker gets upset at lane infringement because he expects everyone to be exemplary users and angels. But the reverse is often true instead. Big fish eats little fish.

That's what I mean by having a sense of entitlement. If u ride expecting ppl to respect u and your right of way, then it's only a matter of time before I get hit. I've long ago given up any such delusions. Now I ride expecting anyone and everyone to not see or give a rat'a ass abt me.

You have a part to play in any accident, even if u think you're not at fault or are the victim. Any many times, u can avoid or reduce the chances of one happening if u change yr entitled mindset, expect less and be more alert.

Ya good advice. I also always ride with my life on e line becoz i noe tat if anything happens, regardless of whether it was a genuine "e driver didnt c me" or a fake excuse, e one lose out is myself. So i always as much as possible, ride high alert, full focus, attention etc.

Does this mean got fup situations i shouldnt be upset even though i expect it to happen?

I do too. Anytime I am on the road its a survival. Full focus all the time as I have never trusted drivers. Even if the light is red and my phone rang I will not even quickly look at it. But I doubt anyone could avoid the accident I experienced unless the driver or I was not there at all. Even no matter how alert or how good your skill is and how great your brakes are. But if someone still thinks too highly of themselves then good for that person.

A little from last night. Thankfully a speeding Ferrari was not present.

Its not exciting nor sexciting. As usual no one is held at gunpoint. Watch at own risk.

You have a right to get mad. It's your call.

I'm already numb to it all. Just earlier a car pulled out of a car park while I was on the major road on the left lane. I simply flicked top the next lane because I more or less already anticipated that he didn't see me, or don't care. Just another typical day on the road.

Not everyone needs or wants to ride with a stigma or chip on the shoulder.

This. +1. Like. You finally got the phrase i was looking for. 'Numb to it all'. I keep saying its like normal, happens everyday one. But we're all just numb to it all. Day in, day out, same thing. We can never change it. We can only adapt to it.

I used to be numb to it all and accepted its an everyday thing till I woke up in a hospital from a 2 days coma and delirious for months. It basically turned my whole life around not in a positive way. But I still try to think positively.

I agree with what you guys just mentioned.

It's sad, but I even I felt that riding in Malaysia seemed so much safer as compared to Singapore (Excluding issues of road theft crimes).

It is a hard truth, but as a Singaporean, I am disgraced to say that Singaporeans are one hell lot of an unconsiderate road users. It's always "the bigger bullys".

How many times have you encountered CARS and LORRIES filtering into our lane without giving a hoohaa about motorcyclists? For me, countless times.

Talk about us swerving in between lanes. I rather swerve around inbetween lane rather than get crushed by all these idiotic road users.

It seemed that the more expensive your ride, the more "priviliege" you should have mentality is so prominent in Singapore road users.

Reckless tailgating

Impatient Over-taking (How many times when I had the courtesy to move to the left when I saw speeding vehicles and before I do so, they cut me on the left)

Permanent HIGH BEAM (Always having this "GET OUT OF MY WAY!!" attitude, usually on luxury cars like BMWs, Audis, Merc. Not excluding all time racer boy - Honda Civics)

It is clearly a disadvantage for alot of motorcyclists, due to our size, and regardless of the situation, we are the ones going down.

Just before someone assumes that it has become a "Rider vs Driver" rant, I do possess a Class 3 License, though I seldom drive (My brother damn niao with his car, so I rather use my own bike)

Alot of drivers in Singapore do not possess any motorcycle license, nor they have ridden one before. So they naturally won't understand our feelings.

Needless to say, there are blacksheeps that tarnish our image as well. Not racist or anything, but do all these "groups" sound familiar ?

- MAT rampits (Famous with RXZs .. pppeeeeehhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

-Typical chinese ah bengs (With their usual CBRs, RVFs, and SPs)

-Super 4 racers (See small bike? Blow at traffic like and take off like a rocket to prove that they have class 2A. God. Not like I don't have)

Again, sorry if any stereotypes or such offended anyone. I am just trying to reilliterate that there are also people at fault on our side that creates certain prejudence against us motorcyclists.

Big bikes look down on small bikes, challenging each other on the road etc.

Just to mention that everyone is using the road for one same purpose, to get from one place to another conviniently and in one piece.

So don't take the road as a track please? It doesn't matter how "satki" you are on the road with all your speed, your lights or your HKS/GPR/SBK exhaust. When you crash, the only thing that people identify of you is not your handsome/pretty face, not your wonderful german/italian engineered machines, but your number plate.

Sorry that this post got this long. Just sharing my 2 cents on our road issues. Once again, I apologized if there is any offensive statement within my post, and mods feel free to adjust my post is there is of such issues.

Adventure.
