Havent had the chance to clear my 2T this week. Then this morning while lanesplitting btn lane 1 and 2, saw this malaysian kup from lane 3 cut into lane 2 to lanesplit btn 1 and 2 and nearly collided with me, no signal no checking blindspot, just swerve. Heng i saw him and blast my horn at him and he swerve back to lane 2. After that, he kept trying to poke my left and right, coming very very close, even though i'm lanesplitting at 80kmph, revving his kup aggressively as well. The jam was bad and i had no space to maneuver, dun dare to slow down cos he will ram me, and i can't switch lane let him pass either cos of cars on left and right. I decided i had enough and clutched in and hiong hiong rev many times.

Undeterred, he continued to poke, so i also continue to clear my 2T... after about 4km of that, finally the traffic was smoother and i went to lane 2 let him pass. As he went past, he showed me middle finger, but i had the last laugh... his helmet full of 2T. It's so much till you can see it's splattered all over the front of his bike, clothes, helmet very obviously... made my day...

No cam always got some interesting things happening. :sian:

First saw a lady driver driving a merc switch lanes from left to right then back to left again simultaneously. Not sure what her objective was. Thankfully I maintained quite a distance from her.

Next as i was exiting the filter lane. Saw a lorry making a left turn into the major road i was entering too. Only thing was the lorry did not do so from the filter lane. Apparently the driver overshot the filter lane and made that left turn when the light was red and its left rear tyres mounted the curb to where pedestrians will usually be when waiting for the green man. Thankfully there were no pedestrians at that point of time.

Lately i notice quite a few jokers while riding the past week.

- drive in mid of 2 lanes

- swerve into your lane, then swerve back to their lane

- can't drive straight, always veering into other lane

- drive extremely slowly (20kmph) on single road cos horlan

- type message on phone while driving

- stop at roadside suddenly without on hazard lights

- change lane to my lane with me right beside while waiting for traffic light to turn green, i had to pedal forward while horning to alert that joker to stop before he bang my bike. stupid guy still had the cheek to give me the wtf handsign.

I know such cases have existed for a long time... but the frequency in the past week is getting ridiculous...

Thought it was just me. Good to know a fellow rider noticed this too. In another view its bad coz it pretty much not helping in hoping drivers will improve. Should have signalled the driver to get out to talk. Just talk. We are all civilized people.

i saw one joker even better. I was at Singapore Shopping centre. waiting to cross over to Dhoby Ghaut MRT. Suddenly one saloon car juz stopped on the right of the road to allow his passenger to get in on the left. I was like this car will definitely get into an accident one day. No hazard light, cars were going fast behind him, and he juz braked and stopped like that. whats wrong with the ppl nowadays i wonder.

It reflects the mannerism of Singaporeans in general, no wonder they hate us overseas.

This type of driver becoming more and more common... Used to be taxis, but now cars are doing it too... Have managed to avoid rear-ending a couple of these jokers in the past week cos i found their driving manner suspicious.. How to explain? Like u see the way they drive, u will have instinct that they gonna do something stupid, so give more space.

Coz in sg the law doesn't care about the situation, no evidence no talk. Also need money to fight case. :)

But I have a friend who personal encounter similar situation. A taxi in front of him sudden stop to pick up passager. Cam say this friend also never take care, give extra distance since it's taxi in front.

Anyway he reacted and change lane but kanna the car at the side. Anyway in the end he submitted video evidence, he still paid for his own repairs and the car on the right. But the taxi kanna charge for dangerous driving.

Couldn't avoid paying the bills but at least lessen the pain. Having a on board cam does help but pray never have to use it.

Good to have extra space in front. As riders we know its meant for safe stopping distance. But when drivers see it they will just cut in front of us forcing us to slow down more and more. Create another space and another driver will cut into that space. The cycle repeats. Just like how they speed up when we try to overtake them. Instead of doing what is taught in driving centres which is to slow down and assist in the overtaking.

Never tailgate a taxi or anywhere near them for them for that matter, it didn't take me long to learn this. Taxis are mostly driven by myopic old men who pretend their cars are race machines. Cannot see 500m ahead still want to drive like he can. Observed this while riding and while taking the cab and there's another thing too, when you want a cab, they aren't there or changing shift or simply ignore you, when you're holding your helmet, come these cabs attempting to pick you up.

in addition to taxis, vehicles that i try to maintain as much distance away from are vans, lorries, buses, obviously 'lacer' look cars, as well as big cars (camry onwards). Large vehicles like vans, lorries etc, naturally understandable why keep distance away. Lacer cars think they very fast, but if the driver buey zai take corner fast but run wide, you won't wanna be there. Big cars mainly is cause i-own-the-freaking-road-and-u're-just-a-measly-bike attitude.

Many commercial vehicles now are driven by PRCs and Indiamaris and some of them don't have legit licenses if you must know. Employers hire them because they are cheap. Lacer cars, big expensive ones I don't really bother, they aren't on the road often and they don't always drive like hooligans.

Apparently third world country driving licences are accepted here just like how their degrees are. Which is very worrying to say the least.

Well we can either ride fast and always try to be ahead of other vehicles. This way, you are always ahead and moving away from the crowd and effectively is quite safe. But watch out for tp and pot holes.

Or ride slow and just keep giving way. Since slow just relax. :)

I think just be safe and also dun bother other road users can already.

Ever saw an Audi TT speeding past a traffic junction when the lights just turn green. Continue to speed up the slope, then down the slope and getting ready to negotiate the S bend (Bukit Panjang entering BKE). Luckily there wasnt a single vehicle and the driver just negotiate the bend as though he/she was racing at Sepang. From lane 1 cut to lane 2, then lane 2 cut back to lane 1 before the lanes merge together.

This type... i wanna say they deserve it if they crash... but i was guilty of this type of riding once... one time only, 2 months after get bike.... after tio smacked by my then love interest, now gf, i guai guai liao... But some people never learn, until something drastic happen... hopefully by then not too late...

Ride slow sometimes carries more risks than riding fast. It's really very situational. Riding slow while being sandwich btn a large vehicle on your left, and a dubiously reckless driver on you right can be a dangerous situation too. Personally, i think riders have to be aware of situation, know when to be aggressive defensive, and when to be passive defensive, but always defensive!
