ignorance?

did i forget to mention that on both bikes, i had padlocked both front and rear disc brakes?

pardon my ignorance, but wasn't that adequate? or should i have employed security guards to stand there everynite? or was i supposed to be aware that padlock cutters are so easily available these days?

why are u even in here commenting anyways? u think scramblers are jokes, don't u?

go find another thread worthy of your 0.000000002 cents...

the internet holds a vast amount of knowledge. padlocking is just not enough. i can break open a padlock without any cutter in less then 10 secs. think about it. u wanna get a security guard for ur bike? save it boy. with the bikes u have, i dun think it's worth it. ur not even worth my 0.000000002 cents. have fun riding with the small kids. :thumb:

its never about the bikes, it's about the owners. If you're worried sick of someone trying to steal stuff or your machine itself then my suggestion is, why not just sleep with your bike. if not, then dun go around whining like a lil boy if your machine or accesories decides to perform a david blaine on ya.

The bottomline is, **** happens, deal with it. here's my 0.000003 cents, you can keep the change. :thumb:

that's a very passive, or even fatalistic, attitude. we should be pro-active, e.g. discuss the problem, share information/advice with other forumers, think of solutions, etc. i don't think junyahrebel is whining, he's sharing important information with the bikers who care about such issues (and many scrambler riders ARE concerned, abt theft and such).

thanks very much for all your contributions to the discussion so far, but if you have no interest in being part of this community (that's great, no problem) please stop making simplistic sweeping statements or giving unconstructive advice (e.g. sleeping with the bike?!).

it's okay for you to disagree :) this is just my 2 cents too.

the thread starter started the thread because he wants someone to feel sad with him. it is perfectly understandable. he lost something very close to his heart. When i first passed my 2b, i also debated whether should I get a varadero125 or a xr125. One is soo much more ex than the other.

In the end, I optedfor the xr125L, not because I could not afford it. but because of the heart pain that one will have if the bike is stolen. the thread starter had the nightmare came true. I also feel bad for him.

I dropped my Xr recently also and also wanted someone to share my pain, but could find no one. this forum gave me some place when i could find like minded people sharing joys and pain together. isn't it good? sometimes sharing sad things with each other can make you feel better.

I hope the TS quickly fix his bike and close this sad chapter in his life.

Always ride safely and defensively.

Repair bike cheap and fast,

Repair body expensive and slow.

Hey JunyahRebel thanks for posting this... I am collecting my XR4 today and as all of you would know that this bike is keyless... (not that its the highest technology of chip identification ignition) haha... and with your post I have decided to invest in good chain lock for my bike just incase some brainless adolecene decide to go joyride with it.

Sigh... reading thru this post does make me wonder ain't bikers suppose to be friendly and helpful? I own HUGE bike but so?.... if u know what I mean... haha

wow, been so long since i posted to this forum...

[fairudyn ] the way you type, you sound alot like [prodero] are u him..

;)

[JunyahRebel] i feel your pain man...

when i was riding my vara125..... there are times when i get dreams of parts on my bike being stolen, my bike being stolen..etc... felt like crap.. but it was a dream.. suddenly i read your post... its a reality..

anyways im glad you got your bike...

i suppose maybe your area has those naughty teenagers....

anyways good luck...with the vara125 upgrades.. but i supose changing the ignition key would solve the problem... since previous keys were lost.

how about installing a bike alarm?

u know under the seat, there is a build in holder to hold the 'u shape' lock... to lock the wheel and bike... you should get that...so when riding can easily put in under seat...

last note.. i no longer ride a bike.. bec of family had to get a cheap car... getz, but i have to say.. bikers forum much more fun and interesting to read as compared to the get forum... which is most of the time...boring...sometimes.. only interesting...

i miss reading such interesting post....

take care all ..ride safe...

just like to share my experience with this xr4 rider. may have nothing to do with this trend topic. thanks.

xr 4 only have handlebar lock and the bike can start without a key. i see from the writing that u want to invest in a chain lock or etc. that is good practice. I just want to share another good practice with u.

after you park the bike, u may want to switch on the kill engine switch. It happen along time again when i saw a xr4 begin kick start by Xxx (don't know who) and left it running. i remember by the time i saw this, the bike is producing heat to i do not wish to stand near. maybe no harm really done due to this prank by xxx (don't know who). but in the future, when i see a oil leak or etc, i will always suspect that it may be the cause of this prank.

I know the kill switch isn't the solution. but maybe after a few kick, the prank person will give up. just may be only.

Just sharing a experience.

thanks.

wah this thread still alive!

fishtan> y dont u go to yr mech and ask him about helping u install one of those 'secret' kill switches? that way, only you will know the location of the switch and only you can start yr bike... my mech offered to do it for me as a cheaper alternative to changing whole ignition... but i decide to go all the way n change whole ignition AND installed a 2-way alarm. still waitng to catch the lil sonsof*****es...

if u like, maybe i recommned my mech to you? he himself rides an XR4 ;) pm me!

visual> tell me more about this 'U-lock' can? should be very useful when going shopping in JB n leaving bike unattended. Any bike accessory shop should sell it?

koky> lol... maybe u can invent a 'canvas lock' that will prevent canvasses from being stolen! :p lol.. haiya wat to do... even my P plates can get stolen, wat more a canvas bro.. these days, remove watever removable accessories there are on my bike (like my barpad, IU leather case, etc etc..) before going up home. morning come down n fix up before riding off. Leceh, but guarantee won't lose. but these fellas will sure get their retribution someday.

everyone else> thanks for feeling my pain guys! :thumb: hope everyone learns something from my terrible experience! ride safe!
