Need advices from experience rider on accident claim.

Hi guys,

 

I need your help on accident claims. Please enlighten me.

 

3 years ago, I met an accident with a taxi. The taxi was making and illegal U-Turn. He was charged with Inconsiderate driving from the TP result.

 

For claiming, we agreed on 80% in my favour.

 

My injuries, both wrist fractured and has metal plates still inside. Doc report states I have 8% permanent disability.

 

The things im not sure is, what can I claim.

 

Can I claim on trauma, scar due to the accident,future loss income etc.

 

Advice me on how much is fair for the claim quantum according to my injury.

Go see a lawyer or talk to your insurance company. Yes you can claim all medical expenses related to the accident and loss of income if your wrists cannot be used properly. Yes if you need psychiatric care for trauma you can claim that too.

yes bro.. but before I see the lawyer, I wanna do my breakdown.. but idk what to breakdown details..

 

General damages:

1)injury (scar, abrasions etc)

2)pain and suffering

3)side effect in future

4)transport fees going for appointments

 

Special damages:

1)cost of medical bills

2)Loss of income

3)future medical bills

 

These are what I have an idea of.. anything I can add on bro?

better do the claim quick. the limitation period for injury claim is 3 years. after which, it will be time barred and your claim will be dismissed.

seems to me you have already initiated a claim, if not they would not have offered you anything. you are handling the matter on your own?

That's what they offer. I have not accept the amount. Cause it doesn't cover my Hosp bills.

 

I have a lawyer to settle this too. seeing him this thurs. But I wanna know some basics before seeing him.. Just for my back up so I would understand more.

Using the right lawyer is extremely important. Most lawyers just want to close the case fast. Whether you get $100k or $1k the lawyer's fee is about the same. Of course he wants to quick settle instead of getting the best settlement for you.
