NIce bike... I last time FC normal..abit high only..after full service at JB..(waah..menjadi jadi die telan petrol)... VERY HIGH then RPM not stable..idling sometime ca go 3.5 sometime go 1..(haisss).. but my bike fast ah..since i buy 1.5 yrs ago..i feel very lucky...got a guud engine.I think y2 block.. Cos i tried 2 or 3 RXZ...i feel mine better..in terms of engine and speed.. I also clear carbon n fibre last time..better performance but i think perol consumption high alo..

 

I not very pro ah..just my lima sen comment... :cheeky:

does anyone noes what can i do to my bike to get better fuel consumption than current one? and can go smoother from 0km/h to 100km/h. last time the bike wasnt stressed like that until my previous mech adjusted something at the filter and airbox. if no one can help out, i wana sell the bike away (no one will want it cos its damn chialat) or throw it. bcos i have spent $340 on the bike for repairs only within 2 mths plus and the probs just get worst. fyi i just bought the bike 2mths plus ago. i have attached a pic of my bike. u tell me if i shud sell away or keep it and repair it. but i reali dunoe how to repair it. like no one can do it. and i am really broke cos every mth come out like $100++.

any good mechanics to recommend? i just want my bike to go smooth from 0-100km/h and the fuel at least 250-270km full tank. GOD PLEASE HELP ME! selamat hari raya haji!

well me not quite sure abt all the techinal stuff....but i certainly have experience a simmilar probs like u when i just bought my bike...my bike last time can go to 80km/h only...further more it will be very noisy n as if i like want to explode like that...and fc also high sia as i know almost every two day need to top up...

 

For mine bike this all happen after i rebore my piston after suspected piston seize...the mec say must rebore my block n change piston...so need to running in...But after running in....Try to ride like normal and exceed 80km cannot sia...so noisy like want to explode...very frustrating sia...

 

when back to the mech tell him the probs...he just simply said the con rod loose oredi..thats y noisy...so need to overhaul...since that time i bo liao oredi...i bo pien ride my bike only....

 

and all i did this in jb....

 

Untill i talk to my uncle abt this probs...wah he scolded me...he say JB mech only know how to take money from u somemore i pplate tat time...Dont follow blindly wat the mec say...so he bring me to his mech...wah apek2 type of mech...near jalan besar stadium...told him abt my probs...tell him tat my conrod loose...he rev my enjine...and my conrod no probs lah...he say my block gone oredi...too big oredi...thats y cannot go fast..so actually no probs...can ride like normal but cannot ride fast.....he ask me to go scrapyard n find block...then he fix it....

 

but hehe i only listen to his advice...got a block i went to jb to fix...cause cheaper...

 

n since then my bike okay oredi...n until now no major fault...

maybe faris can help u out.... try contact him ah... btw, kalo bole avoid jb nye mechanics for ur engine parts kalo ko tak knal mechanic dier.... ni based on aku pe experience lah kan.... moto lawa bro, jgnlah jual... syg dok... :cheer:

hmm why avoid jb mechs for the parts? they will put in lousy stuffs?? in sg can be trusted?

can recommend spore shop where can do overhaul cheap, only conrod...

so far i have asked around the cheapest is 350sgd.. but from what pple told me.. if conrod loose usually must down the whole engine. means overhaul the whole engine.. u mean can overhaul conrod only?

 

btw wad kind of sound u get? "keletek" sounds very fast ah? mine the mech and my dad say its piston ring loose. but my conrod also abit longgar..

i go for full-servicing, the mech show me my conrod loose(can slide left to right)

he told me my conrod only got problem, then he say got to change bearing, conrod and etc.

now blur where wanna go do bike at spore or jb???

piston bearing change in jb is 75RM. conrod i dont know bcos from what i heard is if ur conrod loose got to down engine. but so far only one of my fren ride rxk he told me can just change conrod only.. cos he did that before. i think he said in jb about 100+RM. if you do in sg then probably same price but different currency. so its like 100+sgd.

 

you can go jb do if you or your fren knows the mechanic there. im going in friday night.. my fren noes e mechanic so he will help me.. if you want can follow.. im just bringing 35rm to ask e mech check for me why my fuel consumption very bad and service my block. i checked carb. no port. so now maybe its either block porting or piston size too big. but if too big then also may not be possible. cos my jet standard. dunoe if piston size big can take it or not.

 

also gona ask him check my setting. my rpm cannot go above 4 smoothly.. basically go there dapat quotation.. lepas tu baru decide if nak buat ke tak.

btw anyone knows where to get block pple wana scrap? or anyone who wants to scrap their block? my bike is y1 block but i use 6 gears.. spose to be 5 gears but previous owner changed.. does it matter what kinda block i use?

i do it at speedway ard 150, piston original japan, servicing, check my conrod, engine oil all... consider ok ah... jb qoute me change conrod all ard rm 650... ahahah bleh muntah katak.... now dah tk whack sgt, ada je moto senyap tahan taxi balik...:smile: :smile:

kedai gerek? so far my MP outrider instructor told me.. kat sin ming near LTA there.. ada like multi storey building.. 3rd floor.. if im not wrong his name is Ah Huat. he say there do slow but good. i never been there cos never had e time.

 

JB quote kau rm650 change conrod and piston stuffs or overhaul engine? kat mane seh? my fren say overhaul engine is about 300+. change new block about 200++. so if like overhaul everything its about 600+rm. if just change conrod and piston stuffs rm650 mati ah... kedai mane nie?

The most ideal main jet size that creates the most power is actually the leanest it can go before it goes 'booOOoom'. So to determine if you've reached that 'thin red line' of tuning, you HAVE to check the spark plug colour after a plug chop. You're partially correct on the different range of different compenents in a carb. I agree that to tune the rest of the jets/ settings, you have to ride it to know whether its correct or not. There's a whole load of systematic ways of checking each jet. I shall not touch it since you've already briefly covered some. But what I like to correct is that, all the jets/ components ie slide cutaway, needle etc are not based on RPM. This is easily misunderstood. But you must understand that RPM DOES NOT EQUAL THROTTLE OPENINGS. You can be at 12,000PRM and yet your bike is at closed throttle or 1/4 throttle opening!!

 

Thus wat you should say is "Main jet (1/2 throttle opening to WOT).... blah blah blah..." "Next, the Midrange (1/4 throttle to 3/4 throttle opening) Jet Needle:... blah blah blah..." and so on and so forth. Aight?

 

BTW, you're spot on regarding the float height. Sweet. Cheers~

Stroker, I must say that your explanations makes sense to me. I don't know that there are many factors of choosing the right main jet. What I've learnt in 1 of the website, in tuning, the most effective way to know whether the air & fuel mixture are too rich or too lean is to check the plug after WOT (wide open throttle) at top gear. It dosen't mention about the main jet size right or wrong. Riding at WOT on top gear after particular time, pull the clutch and kill the engine (do not apply engine braking) and freerunning your bike to a stop and read the plug in other words, your say,'PLUG CHOP' am I right? I have no idea with the same method, you can also know the ideal MAIN JET. I see...

 

Yes, I strongly agreed that RPM DOES NOT EQUAL TO THROTTLE OPENINGS. Common sense tells us that. I thought I already made it clear with my explainations. Haahahaha... That RPM thing is only a rough guide line to that applications. Thats is the easiest way that I can think of to make ppl here understand and yet some might get misunderstood. Hmm... What else I can say! :cheeky:

yeah so far all those tuning infos makes sense.. after all theres alot of jets in e carb and they are interconnected since all affects the air-fuel mixture at different stage of throttling..

 

so can somebody tell me if i am right.. i am using standard jetting 210. basically my carb is standard. but my bike cannot move smoothly at 4rpm.. need to throttle fully before it goes above 4rpm. my fren helped me tune my bike.. its abit better now but he say the air jet open very big oredi..

 

then my fuel consumption improve from 190km to 220km.so we came to a conclusion. either the block is ported or oversize, OR the piston size is too big. are we right on this? or we just suck at tuning and figuring out? hahaha!

 

information you guys can refer to before solving the mystery of my bike:

 

carburetor: main jet standard size. mech say no port. but then dunoe if he set the needle jet correctly? i mean can move it up and down right? also he lowered down the carb fuel float so more fuel can go in. because last time cannot kick start. very hard. must use choke. now can oredi.

 

pipe: yamaha 3bs. NO fibre inside.

 

gear: 6 gears

 

block: y1 block (dont know if ported or mod or not)

 

piston bearings: loose but still can use according to mech and my dad. say its normal wear and tear for old bikes.

 

piston size: no idea

 

fuel consumption (mileage): 220km for 10litres

 

performance: bike stuck at 60km/h, requires full throttle for 3 secs or so on flat road before can go up to 80km/h and above smoothly.

 

fork: left fork oil leaking. suspect seal cap loose. thus handlebar now abit wobbly. whr to change? one side how much?

 

 

 

basically my bike now main problem is fuel consumption very high, and cannot speed and accelerate smoothly.. anyone and everyones help is very much appreciateD!!!!!!! thank you!
