Ermmm... If ur block stated tat it's Y1, then it's the original stuff then. Ur gears hav got nothin to do wif ur block. Just need to open up ur engine and put in the 5 speed gears. Go to Panjang @ JB, he can revert it for u although u might need to wait for the gears to be ordered. I saw him doin his wonder wif his magic fingers and can easily open up ur block, engine and gears in less than 20mins!!! And he can also check the 'one kind' sound. Might be ur piston...

As for those external parts, I think it would be wise to get it from S'pore. Just pay more abit but at least it will last. Well tis is through my experience lah tats all...

My Bike died on me just b4 reaching 100km/h..

But this time i noticed earlier n clutch in...

Slowly float to the road shoulder....

 

The worst thing is i was on the 2nd most right lane @ PIE (passing by SAFRA Toa Payoh) :faint: :faint:

eh anione realise nowaday got lots of TP hanging around?? on sunday WRX silently stop beside me.gave me ashock when the tp tell me...

Maybe you guys should set your oil pump a bit higher? I mean adjust it so that more 2T oil comes to the engine. Better to have some more smoke than needing new piston all the time...... mine Z has now almost 68.000 kilometers, i "rempit" quite some times, and NEVER have a problem with the piston..... i disabled YCLS system and turn up the oil some more.....

I understand you get fined if your bike smokes too much..... no need to turn the oil all the way up, just "some more". Mine only smokes after a cold start with choke, as soon as i start driving there is no smoke anymore. When i really let it fly there is a bit of smoke too (>120 km/h) at full throttle but that's it. My 2T tank last for about 1,000 kilometers before the red light comes on, that's about every 4 fuel stops.... so i have an average mix of 1:40. In Germany i was running all my bikes on 1:25 premix, and NEVER had a piston jam or conrod problem. And all together i have done about 350.000 kilometers on two-strokes in Germany, on bikes from 50 to 250 cc.

 

It's also important to use good quality oil - i use Castrol Go 2T, but when i use the cheap one from the supermarket or gas station my Z also smokes a lot more and the engine runs a little rough. No such problem with the Castrol.

 

Currently i am doing between 250 to 300 kilometers per week and can't afford having my Z break down (then i needed to take the car to go to work, which means get up EARLY to spend half day in traffic jams!) and i prefer to use a good oil which cost more but is good for the engine.
