Ahhh!!!!

Recently, I went to Boon Siew to do my first "free" warranty service. Happy happy went there to do the "free" service. Saw the mechanic happy happy, press the brake to see brake light, turn turn the handlebar a bit, press up and down the suspension. I thought ok lah, since "free" cannot complain. Then he went to change the engine oil.

To my horror later, they charge me $13! for the "free service". huh? I thought got warranty? They say service "free", engine oil not free.

they use Castrol Activ (mineral) engine oil.

It is ok. I don't mind paying for the engine oil.

but Yesterday I learnt that that engine oil only like $8 bucks at the most?!?!.

Those bloody peeps charge me $13 for $8 engine oil?!?!.

What "free" service? turn turn handlebar, press brake to see light. need $5 dollars ah?

Got conned by Boon Siew again!

Please learn from my lesson, just buy better oil and change it myself next time. $13 for $8 engine oil? these guys are pros man!

It is stated clearly that Boon Siew give you FOC for service charge (which is about $70~$80 can't remember clearly) but not free oil or whatsoever...

It has been the same policy since donkey years back...

As for the cost of the Castrol Activ (mineral) engine oil, most ppl know their parts or products aren't the market price...

You can always bring anything like even accessories there and ask them to fix it for you the next visit if there is any...

Then you'll not even need to fork out a single cent...

Steps to do a proper KNNBCCB with middle finger.

1. Bow down slightly, looking intensely at objective

2. Like a raging bull, hop and jog slowly towards objective

3. Take your left palm and slap it hard on the right mid-arm with a SLAP!

4. With charisma, raise right arm, whilst showing middle finger (with left palm trapped in bend right arm)

5. Shout! KNNBCCB

$36 is not the highest in singapore. i've paid $80 for towing before. it depends on how professional they are in handling the bike.

It's your damn bike, wash it yourself! You rinse your own mouth after you eat, don't you?

Well before you sent in your bike did you actually call in to check first ? if you did not, then you cannot say they conned you unless they personally tell you is ALL FREE including parts and labour. If you never asked then i think you are overreacting due to your own mistake.

i am ok with paying for engine oil. it is just that paying $13 for something that is at most $8. that is the thing i am peeved about.

now i know...boon siew charges are always "special" compared to outside.

Question, have you tried calling them?

I have tried many many times (think more than 10 times at different days/time) and no one pick it up and call will be diverted to voice mail..... :dozed: Left voice mail with name contacts, reason for calling and after 1week, no one called yet.... :(

Yes. Boon Siew charges more for the same item if you buy direct from them v from Eversuccess/FJT/Chong Aik etc.

The mechanic at Boon Siew even advised me not to get stuff there, as the prices are crazy.

u cannot say until like that lah, there are thousand and one way to play with words. How would the thread starter know that 'free service' = 'Free labour service only'? Seriously if not for this thread i will also be fooled into believing that 'free service' includes free oil and all that. Dun tell mi when u go for 'servicing' u dun change oil?

What are the 'pro things' that the towing personnel have done to ur bike? I thot their mission is accomplished as long as they transport ur bike to ur desired destination safely w/o damaging ur bike?

some towing companies manhandle ur bike up..never secure nicely..others have a proper tailgate that is able to go flat on ground..roll bike on..then elevate up and nicely secure ur bike later..

bikebulance offers that and they charge onli $25 at that time i tow mi bike, hence i am really curious what shiraz got when he pay $80 for his tow.

Not only engine oil... Anything else that don't require too much time to fix also you can bring there ask them to fix it for you...

I remembered bringing 4L of engine oil, oil filter, spark plugs, headlight shield, KNN air filter and the mechanic changed all for me without utter a single word... No charges at all...

maybe that is why when I go there always see the TP bikes there and very few CV bikes?
