Wondering if anyone can help me out on this....

Recently find my TA200 lacks power (as in have to really turn the throttle very high just to hit 90km/h). Thought it might be due to EO & plug. So manually changed the plug first. That was last week. Didn't help much with the power issue. So decided to change the EO and plug and went to Dr Koon's shop this Tuesday. Changed EO & a titanium plug. After changing the EO and plug the engine seems smoother when its running but it still lacks the power. In fact, when I was on 5th gear, I find the engine power very weak at around 60+ km/h and suddenly, as if there's some power surge, the engine suddenly have a boost of power. Nonetheless, I still need to really turn the throttle alot just to hit and maintain 90km/h. At 100km/h my bike is like dragging at max liao. Anyone kind soul can help me out on this? Have anyone experienced similar situation? Thanks in advance!

 :giddy:

Hi,just my suggestion..maybe your clutch plates are worn out already.

You can try changing your clutch plates. Shouldn't have the problem

anymore. As you mention, there is a sudden surge suddenly when u

open your trottle. This maybe due to worn out clutch plates and need

time before your clutch plates bite with your gears. Just my comment

I have seen some people use wd40 to clean the stain, maybe you wanna try this method first to see if its feasible.

buy cap and fix only. No need to buy new headlight.

Hey guys, there was once where I rode my bike for about 20+ minutes with the choke on. Forgot push the knob back in before moving off.

Is there anything to worry about?

Don't think there is anything to worry about, just that it might just die anytime.......

No worry on that, just remember to push it back in before riding.

It will only make your bike alittle weird (power respond). Of course if pull out the choke to ride as for long term then I not sure if it will have side effect.

I haven't clean my chain since i got the bike. Everything else I use car shampoo to wash. Waxing, in my knowledge, it keeps your paintwork shiny and smooth and also makes it easier for your next wash. For chrome parts, i use chrome polish to maintain them and to get rid of rust.

whoa.. expensive.. good a not..

does its job well enough...

I "hiam" kerosene @ diesel too messy, then WD40 may degrade the O-Rings, so use dedicated cleaner lor.. one can can last ages!

I have a hunch it might be the clutch plates or the clutch that's causing the problem. Will check with Dr Koon when I visit him the next round. Do you know how much a replacement set of clutch plate cost? Read a fellow TA150 rider quoting that he replaced his for $55 at Dr Koon. Is it the same price for TA200 (i.e. the same set of clutch plate)?

Clutch plate at $55? maybe u dont let Ah Koon know the problem let him check & see wat he say.
