please at least get a riding jacket and gloves man. they'll save you from serious abrasions. im not saying you have to wear gloves and jacket to the market also, but it is good to wear when you are in a 'playful' mood. especially on rounding trips. oh yeah, good poser value too ^^

If you can't afford a riding jacket, at least buy a riding glove. I think that is the minimal a rider should have when they ride. I wouldn't say a jacket is a must. I've got one, but I don't wear it daily as Singapore is too hot for it. Only wear it when I know I'm gonna push my yourself in Malaysia. Just buy it when you have enough cash to spare. Last but not least, Ride safe!

Yep, i haf to say that they will definitely protect thought the prices are nothing near cheap.

I've had an accident last year and even though i was wearing shoes, i still broke 3 of my toes, was travelling at no more than 60km/h. So you can imagine the damage it'll do if i was wearing slippers.

The hospital fees alone came up to 3k....not including the return trips to the hospital. The hassle of using crutches for 3 months.....

I weighed the cost of a pair of boots, a jacket n gd gloves(total less than $900)......they don't even come close to the price that i had paid...........

So now i always feel that safety gear is important.... they may not come cheap, but medical bills will cost more. If you have the $$ to buy a nice bike, take gd care of it.... how come no $$ to buy gear? Save up slowly to get it, its ok......just dun ever think that its not important.....

if you think its important, its important, if you think its not, its not.

there are inexpensive range of riding gear, depends on what kind you want, what kind you can afford.

May I ask, when you say expensive, what range were you looking at?

dun understand, recent injury still make you indecisive about investing of simple riding gears, I dunno what else would make you really start to get them.

maybe something like permanent loss of limbs? or... wheelchair bound? or bed ridden for the rest of your life?

Posted

Its not about the looks of you wearing a full gear...

Its about the safety....

Get a full face and protect your chin...

(I got a 3 stitch on my chin last year)

Posted

Yeah, be thankful that u are still alive and can move ur 4 limbs.... so if you don't want to get protective gears, the least you can do is up your insurance coverage to at least be able to support your parents till they pass away......
