Anyone using free downloadable linux on their system & extremely happy with it? Which type you using?

 

Me using Mepis - very satisified because it detects almost all my peripherals such as thumb drives & network connections effortless.

I'm start to play with Linux. Have downloaded Fedora 7 and still playing with it. Still a noob in Linux.

Now trying to get Ubuntu installed on my spare PC coz I wanna configure it as a home-network file server.

i tested Ubuntu before, i can't remember clearly, there's something it can't do like automatically detect my network card & connects to my internet or plug & play all my external drives. Can't remember which one.

 

Yr Ubuntu is the Live CD version?
