any advice on my issue?

adv no 1. go back to the shop & ask them to rectify the problem.

no 2. diy empty the radiator coolant. after empty, on ur bike. check whether coolant at reservoir reduce or not, coz if radi lack of coolant, it should be sucking coolant from reservoir. :innocent: correct me if im wrong pls.

and btw my bike is runnin in, for how long should it be in running in mode?

before 500km, i keep below 6k.

after 500km, i keep below 7k.

after 1k, up to u liao.

in any emergency case, pls dont hesitate to revy higher. its ur life on the line.

>alpheus, i usually go the ah boy motor shop, you need to go there often so that they recognise you and to prevent further cheating, actually i was told my full service of just taking out the block, carb and piston just to wash it but it turns out to be a disaster after they found out that my piston crack and need to change piston, piston ring and rebo block total 530RM, normal full service is 180RM, please ask in details of what kind of full service they do..cause they are just simply mechanics that r stereotype..so please clarify 1st...

I'm planning to get the block, piston and carb washed, valve serviced and change gaskets if unnecessary. As what you said, I think I'll bring extra cash in case the piston etc. needs to be changed. How long did the full service take? If its long then I have to come early because i dont wanna leave my bike there.

i told them that i want full service and they in return asked what kind of full service, washing of carb, block and piston and/or change air filter, eo, spark plug and coolant..clarify with them..btw when you going?i mite want to tag along...it may take 3 hours if theres no problem with ur bike...its safer to bring xtra cash and dun go alone as you can be a victim...

run-in for at least 500 - 1000km.

as the piston rings will take shape during the run in period, avoid revving the engine to high RPMs. there should be some worn down metal shavings found in the engine oil.

u may want to consider changing engine oil at 500km mark and then another time at 1,000km mark to keep the oil clean~

LAB sells it.

get those maintenance free ones to eliminate hassle of having to maintain battery at regular intervals.

e last time i went LAB to buy, they have 2 models. pick e one which cost more. i had problems fitting the cheaper one under my seat cause it was too fat/tall. ended up went back to topup & get the more expensive one.

why u all maintain cbr150 like maintain 2stroke bikes ah?

if engine is running fine, dont open it up.

was fiddling around my front brakes that day. ended up i farked it up & had to spend $45 at workshop to get a new brake pump kit. the mechanic gave me some wise words. "摩多 摩多 越摸越多“. to translate, it means that the more you meddle the more issues will come.

it is this kind of advice that convinces me that i had brought my bike to the correct workshop. i.e. those who won't ask me to change unnecessary stuff.

I used to be able to get 140km/h easily. but now reach 120km/h then dont want go up alrady. then somemore my bike sometimes jerk where the rpm go up and down suddenly followed by stalling. & it has been around 5 months since i had it full serivced.

My spark tank is only 4L. No point going into JB just to pump petrol. :faint:

Agree with you bro. 4 stroke don't need to keep open up unless got problem!

I see a lot of ppl riding 4 stroke open up their engine to do a full service, as if they were riding a 2 stroke.. So waste of money :sian:

tink they only offer you the maintenance-free battery.

:cheeky:

nowadays hard to find the normal battery w/ water that requires toppping up of battery water (i.e. maintenance type) already other than those that come stock w/ the bike.

I used to be able to get 140km/h easily. but now reach 120km/h then dont want go up alrady. then somemore my bike sometimes jerk where the rpm go up and down suddenly followed by stalling. & it has been around 5 months since i had it full serivced.

oh. i get what u mean. get it done at more reputable shops using original honda parts lah. only concern w/ doing such major stuff at JB is their lack of easy access to original cbr150 parts there. hence they may substitute for non-original parts that have short lifespan. :(

where did u get the previous full service done at? maybe they dint do a good job. i did mine at 92,000 km. odometer went 1 complete round already and now at 37,000km. engine still running fine, as in i dont get issues like engine oil getting 'eaten' and top speed remains consistent. i guess if the job's well done, it will last?

Hi. Im a new rider, bought my cbr150 in dec 2010.

Just want to ask, ive been having difficulty to start my bike, especially in cold weather. The idle is just too low suddenly, and i didnt adjust the timing from its default coz i know its not a permanent solution. Have to rev very slightly just to get it to catch for about 4mins till engine's warmer (if not it'll idle low and die everytime i try). Only then can i let go throttle and by then rpm's ~1.3k. Then i'll usually warm up 2 mins more to up rpm to 1.5k. Previous owner changed to yuasa battery april last year so i ruled batt problem.

I just went to check my carb and sure enough, got wear and tear marks (also, mileage 71k+ ardy). Mech said, bike 6 years ardy so should change carb if i want my bike to 'feel young'. What do you guys think? If i should change, go jb can trust them?

New carb is $200 dude.... I also live with this 'problem' everyday... Just use choke to warm it up. Or just start and go... Don worry, won't spoil one.

Oh yah the mech said this is normal, just need longer warm up or use choke. Just need confirmation from other bikers. Thanks man :thumb:
