changed to sp carb already. can feel the diff in the lower end =)). no diff on top end=((. bt the drop in fc is quite bad tho.top up full tank and rode 100km only and the petrol is approacing half already.

wow...i like yr style. say & immediately do! curious. besides replacing the the carburettor, what other stuff did the mechanic do in order to fit in the SP carb?

btw, anybody can enlighten me on different sprocket combinations & their rationale? i only know that they affect the performance of the bike and its efficiency

just changed new chain + sprocket tdy. got it for $60 inclusive installation @ LAB. the DID chain looks chio, gold chain + black color sprockets.

:cheeky:

but it dint really solve the rattling sound im hearing when RPM reaches 4-5K.

sad. got to try re-tracing the source of the sounds already. =(

anyway, i got 15-42 for front & rear sprocket size.

for sprocket mod,

front - the more teeth the lower acceleration and higher top speed

rear - the more teeth the higher acceleration and lower top speed

bear in mind that if u were to change the sprocket size by too much, u may end up losing both acceleration and topspeed.

cause engine is not capable of churning out enough power for u.

:cheeky:

changing the carb into sp 28mm aint gonna push ur bike for top speed or better torque...if prefer to mod the torque, might as well just replace the mainjet pin size..

thats cheaper n well better proven with perfect tuning , compare replacing the stock carb with sp28mm carb...

whats the point of putting a bigger carb, but didnt remove the the stock cdi restriction...you are able to hit higher rpm with a bigger carb, but then, restricted on the cdi...

IMHO...

he said need more air intake hence needa take out the airfilter. any downside do it? if there is then i think buying k&n airfilter should do it thouhg its kinda pricey =/.

what do u think the downside will be, logically?

stock 15-44. 14-42 will be the best combination for both tourqe & top end, but slightly lower fc. currently im using 14-44, best for my size + throttle bit more can overtake other so easily, but im getting 90kph at 7k rpm. in the end, its all depend on what the rider want.

Guys, ride safely. Road is not for playing.

coil, tyre, sp, air filter, exhaust, throttle, racing clucth, n most important after u change all these, brake system. some ppl change this & that, but brake system stock, how to stop the bike? these ppl wont be able to ride for long.

might as well buy big bike, brother.

correct...upon mod for performance...second thought in mind is to upgrade the suspension n braking power...u are able to achieve high speed ( assume )

but then cannot stop ur bike within the limit time..useless ehhh...

hm..so the stock airbox is gone i suppose? i hope u kept those original parts the shop took out? just in case u want to revert back to stock setup.

:cheeky:

for air filter, general rule is that anything that lets in more air (i.e. better air flow) is likely to allow more dirt particles into the carburettor & maybe engine.

my 15-42 sprocket setup is exactly similar to the previous set of sprocket i had. so far so good. about 95kmph at 7k rpm.

looks like o-ring to me~

its not right, imo, u can only get 95kph at 7k rpm by this combo. even stock 15-44 can get 100kph. something is not right.

ur tyre size stock?

eo 40 or 50?

no way u can get o ring chain + sprockets at that price. include installation rite?

haha...no clue man! i'm getting the exact same speed @ same rpm compared to the previous set of sprockets.

my tyres are smaller than stock actually. 90-80. :p

EO used is Power1 semi-syn. so it's 40.

hmmm...since i've been getting this kind of speed/RPM ratio for quite some time already, dont think this is linked to the discovery i made yesterday when i took out air filter to wash.

my fuel suction pump was loose~ think im somewhat losing abit of petrol here & there but don't tink this really affected the speed/RPM ratio.

when i walked in to LAB and asked for new chain & sprocket. ah boy says there is chain + sprocket ranging from $30+ to $80+. hahaha. i picked e one he priced at $68 (inclusive sprocket + installation) and negotiated down to $60. he budged cause he dint have OEM sprocket available (thats why i got 15-42 instead of 15-44).

i dont wanna mod too much because im not using the bike for track anw. i'll just stick to the simple ones like changing sprocket etc.

its subjective to the rider. whichever you feel comfortable. i think the valve opens ard 8k. so if you want to ride conservatively, change before 8k,
