Greetings Bros and Sis, I just bought over a CBR600RR.

Unfortunately, its not street legal at all so hope to meet up with you guys at the track only.

After forcing myself to step off a Repsol CBR1000RR in 2006 to learn how to race, starting with the DRZ400SM, followed by a Y125Z and a KR150 recently to regain the sportsbike feel... I guess I am ready to come back to riding an inline 4 sportsbike.

Ride safe everyone.

Ermm.. I need to learn how to handle the bike on the track first. Will only race it when I feel comfortable enough.

Come to think of it.. it took me 5 years to learn how to ride the tracks all over again.. but its a good path to follow.. I really learnt alot.

See you on the track soon.. ie July 31. Kekekkeke

Bloodtears- outlook is never really an important of Greenie. Well I do go for performance alot and I always wan the best for my best. I can advice u 1001 things but will need be needing all of them now. What I have or what I advice doesn't mean u need them too. U need to understand ur bike and know what u want. If u wa speed and perform than go look for track item. U cant do much to make ur engine go fast. When u wan fast usually it is not legal. U wan fast tha why do u wan to get 600cc must as well get 1k. Think abt what u wan before u decide to spend. Mod is unlimited and endless.

There is someone out there for me

I know there is someone out there

I know she is waiting so patiently yeah

Can you tell me her name?

(Somebody tell me her name)

This life-long search is gonna drive me insane

How does she laugh?

How does she cry?

What's the color of her eyes?

Does she even realize I'm here?

Where is she? Where is she? Where is she?

Where is this beautiful girl?Who is she? Who is she?

Who is gonna complete my world?

Afternoon fellas..

Juz got myself a cbr6rr..

Anyway here have 2nd hand race parts to let go..

Get back to me ya..

Oh yes..I did my running in on the track last sunday..(Now my mileage is 89.5km..heheheh)

I saw my bike for the 1st time last sunday at PG & did my run in at SMSA BRS Race on stock condition..

Bike is great, superb mid-range but at stock top end is lousy..

A chassis so easy to blend in & race hard as the bike is smooth at turns & easy on the throttle respones..

I am so used to slipper clutch that i forgot the CBR is not equipped.

So its still a learning curve for me but i know the CBR will be a great track tool..

Do gimme tips on wat can improve/better the bike ya fellas..hope to learn more from all the Taikow's of CBR here.

Cheers.

Rein - I have lots of 2nd hand track parts... feel free to get in touch.

When you say the top end is lousy... compared to what? the CBR doesn't have the same power chracteristics as an R6 or the latest ZX6, but it is there's no serious disadvantage overall. Look at the last BRS as proof of that. :)

At our level it's all the rider once you're on the track - even in MSS the top superbike is only 2-3 seconds faster than the top 600. (which says a lot about the 600cc guys if you ask me)

its been long since u posted here man. hows the lifepo4 battery pack fair? i was wondering is it a good alternative for daily street usage or u only use it on the tracks?

hey bro... been a bit quiet, for sure :) my battery pack has been rock solid - but lately the cbr has been track only. but it did have a few months off while I was waiting for broken bones to heal, lol. It always fires up straight away, though.

I think as long as you don't have an alarm or something that drains current they're fine on the street.

Hi bro..

-Yup my last BRS i was able to understand slightly the bike character..

But only manage to pace the 4th rider..

With all stock condition might not be ideal for PG or for me espcesially.

Probably with a higher rear gears ratio could have help give me even more punch out of corner speed.

-Personally i find the Top end is not strong compared to the R6(Lack that punch) i believe compared stock to stock basis..(Bikes like R6,gsxr6,zx6..etc,they had this top end pull, but with the cbr u brace urself for that but the bike pull is very linear that one will think that its not fast, but in actual fact it is,but due to its gradual climb u don feel it,but if ur on the R6 especially..its sure make it known to the rider cause if one can't handle it the bike will bite ya..khekhehe)

but i quote the mid range is superb & that was where its strong points that i was able to utilised on last BRS..

But if it has better top end i believe i could pace the top 3 guys at the front.

-The other issue for me is the HESD..its great on straight line speed..But at fast flicking turns eg(PG turn 7 to 8) & Maybe (Sepang turn 5 to 6 or turn 12 to 13) how do u counter the HESD effect?(HESD takes effect on a basis of the speed, higher speed harder damping, slow speed lesser damping).

As i find the HESD had to be muscle slightly at turn 7 to 8,this is notice more after doin 7 laps onwards,Will a after market damper be reccomended or the HRC Damper be ideal?

-Bro how can i contact u? Or maybe u can get in touch with me?

If you're on stock gearing a bigger rear sprocket will help things out. I've never really noticed the HESD to be a problem, but that said I had the biggest tankslapper of my life going from Turn 2 to Turn 3 at Sepang last weekend- i thought I was done for sure... I don't know if a different damper would have helped or not. I think the popular option is the GPR V4, but bitubo and matris make kits as well. I'm sure the HRC kit is fine, but I'm also sure it's $$$.

Ya was sourcing out for higher rear sprockets before the Race,But i was away & had no time for the bike.

I only saw it(The CBR) on the Sunday, race day itself.I had less than 2 laps of practise & had to figure the bike out during 5 lap Qualifyin..khkehekhe..That was fun..khekhe..

Hmmm..Tankslap out of T2 to T3 huh??That is juz a short flick turn..Not that i had riders complain of or i've experiences..But i do experience & have saw riders had Major if not Killer Tankslap at exit of T3 to T4..as there are slight ripples bumps on the middle to 3/4 part of the track if ur lining out of T3 is deep then u might have met it..khkhekheke..

Anyway do get back on the items i enquire on FB ya..

Hope to get practising with u one of these days..I know i got lots to learn abt this bike & it will be fun..

Slowly build up and get ready for track!!!

Thanks much. Yep, am still racing the DRZ.. its a fun bike to race. Learnt alot from it and also from racing the little Y125Z and KR150.

I hope to adjust back to riding the sportsbikes soon... hopefully what I have learnt racing the small bikes will be useful when I get on the 600 at PG.

I've had some shaking from the ripples going out of T3, but this case was from trying to turn the bike when the front wheel wasn't quite on the ground, lol. This one was stop to stop a few times so i was pretty worried!

I think the fact that you did so well at BRS on a new bike is a testament to the CBR - it's a nice bike to ride and and easy to get comfortable on. You can carry corner speed, get on the gas early and it has the midrange to get you pulling. If you're next to someone who knows what they're doing on a faster bike they will get you on the straight, but it's always fun to pass a liter bike for the first 20 meters out of a corner... they get you eventually but you can go right by on the brakes. :) The only drawback for racing the CBR is the lack of a slipper clutch if you're doing MSS.

I do need to get back to PG and get some practise in - lately it's just been Sepang trackdays.

Yes..the CBR is indeed an easy machine to get a custom..for most riders at many level.

Its linear power delivery is easy to adapt & forgiving on the punch..

The standard brakes were great & i already have some things in mind if wanna upgrade..hehe.

On the slipper clutch that was what i feel during the qualifyin..The bike lacks slipper clutch..

But i had some strategy on goin abt it & it seems to work smoothly..(& it does not involve blipping the throttle..hehehe),

I'm not too sure how i would do once the upgrades are in so slipper clutch would be a nice to have list..

31st of PG trackday..can hit the tracks for some adrenaline rush.khkehkeh..
