Hi all out there....

Wanna seek some advice from you guys regarding fuel consumption issue that i am facing with my bike.

Have been riding my 05 600rr for the past 3 years already and constantly able to hit about 240 - 245 before reserved. For the past 3 weeks, suddenly my fuel consumption have been dropping from 240, to 230... and now 220!!! . My riding style have been always the same. Changing gear at every 5k rpm, gentle on the throttle and taking the expressway everyday to work. The only changes i made to my bike recently is engine oil change and tire, which is some what a month ago (But i guess that is not the problem).

So wondering if anyone out there could kindly advice me on what is going on with my bike . Many thanks in advance =)

Check ur tire pressure.

low tire pressure could affect mileage.

Street usage could stay within the 34-38 PSI.

On the track u might wanna lower it down.(Depends on tire profile & brand)

Any1 did valve clerance before?after do got any diff?

Depends on the shims measurements was made.

The shims should be at the specific manufacture reccomendations.

if taken lightly could cause mismatch valve movement..

If done properly bike will be able to get the proper air/fuel ratio to the cylinders & proper vented out exhaust fumes.(Juz like a fresh engine should perform)

Boost hp i'm not too sure..

Got difference? Mcct better?

OEM or aka Auto Cam Chain Tensioner works when it is pressurized by the oil pump. During acceleration, oil is forced into the ACCT to tighten the timing chain. When u r decelerating there will be lesser oil pressure thus tension of the timing will be loose.

Normally its the deceleration part which cause the most damage. Especially if u engine brake from high rpm.

Depending on the oil pump, very strong oil pressure may also cause the timing chain to stretch prematurely or if the pump is weak, no matter how u open throttle little pressure is generated. This is the reason y u hear the tick tick sound after high mileage. And this when u need to do valve clearance.

Manual Cam Chain Tensioner works simply by turn the bolts/ screws. Pressure upon the timing chain is same throughout the rpm range accelerating or decelerating. But the sweet pressure spot is not easy to find.

Bad thing abt it is u have to adjust it from time to time to maintain the 'correct' pressure on the chain as the chain would stretch over time.

People says if done correctly and periodically, u can prolong the valve clearance servicing intervals. Cam gears and timing chain will last longer.

But if done poorly eg. adj too tight may cause the chain to snap and damage the engine. Eg too loose causing the tick tick sound and damage the shims and the affecting the valve synchronisation.

This is just a rough explanation i remembered reading somewhere. For more details u might wanna look up maybe from 600rr.net or google.

And yes i'm using MCCT too and yes they says honda oem acct suckks and to those who is gonna ride a new bike and for a long time, its recommended to install straight into a new bike.

Do you have an HRC ECU with this? Why use the HRC harness if you're not using the ECU?
