Hi guys,

Would like to know what's the top speed that a X8 can go?

Kenny, I have posted some questions for you on previous posting. Can you enlighten me?

Also, does it has any indicators telling you that it's time to change belt or oil or others?

Just wanna get as much info as possible before owning it. Hope you guys can give me as much info as possible. Example like

1) What type of tire best suit X8, actually wanna check whether Metzeler ME1 is suitable for it?

2) What pressure should it be? As I will be pillioning my wife, so most likely the weight will be around 80 + 54 kg which is 134kg.

3) How to run in a auto maxi scooter? First time lah.

4) aiyah... as long as it's related to X8....

Thanks

Hi VaraStormer, the X8 top speed is arnd 125km/h but i ever reached 130 with wind assisted and the road is on a gradient at the north south highway. It should reach 115 to 120 comfortably.

The X8 doesn't have such indicator as the X9 does.

Im currently using michelin gold standard tyres. so far the best I've tried.

The pressure recommended is 210 front and 230 rear

I think 134kg should be quite alrite for the scoot to take it

For running in its recommended to follow tis:

Running in speed full Details:

a) 30 to 50km/h for first 0 to 200km

40 to 60km/h for 200 to 300km

c) 40 to 70km/h for 300 to 500km

d) 50 to 80km/h for 500 to 650km

e) 50 to 90km/h for 650 to 750km

f) 60 to 100km/h for 750 to 900km

g) 60 to 105km/h for 900km to 1000km

h) 70 to 115km/h for 1000km to 1500km

There are more info in this earlier page of this thread

Hope tis helps, btw wen u will be getting ur X8

Well, I think I will be able to hit 300km within a week lah... within 3 weeks I will be able to hit more than 1k already... that means I will do my servicing pretty fast... is it 1st 1000km, 3000km & 5000km? Which I think for the 1st 1000km will be ard 17 days, 2nd ard 1 month later and the 3rd ard 1 month later...

Me super high mileague user... that is why my bike usually serviced monthly as it will hit 3000km per month... just imagine my old bike a FV plate has travelled 62000km juz like within the 2-3 years....

Disar, i mean u as in you bike....

looking at the post that u post regarding running in, i think i am travelling around 50-70km and i am still below 300km.

I thought the running in was mean to be 80% of top speed.

Therefore if 120km/h is the max speed. then 80% should be ard 96km/h.

but then i dare not exceed 80km/h, was afraid that it might be too stressful for the bike.

Yeah mine too only 2 weeks to reach the 1K mark. I travelled a lot for work. If u are servicing the 1st 3 service at PSC u hav to book earlier especially during festive season. They open during office hours only and u hav to make appointment before coming.

Mine after 11 mths hit 22k already. But your friend's evo can hit 140 - 150 stock is quite shocking. I tot can only hit abt 130 max

Kimi of cos you most welcome  but we don really hav a X8 club formally. Wen we hav outings usually is a mixture of different scoots.

But I'm thinking of designing an X8 logo then makin it to a sticker. Wat do u guys think?

Tat was the general guideline tat was set out by Kenny wen he was running in his scoot. But tell u the truth i never stick to tat as i can be an impatient person wen im late for an appointment (my bad habit la)

So i follow my general rule as long as i don strain the engine during running in shld be alrite. I gradually the speed as well. Like fr 60 - 70 - 80 -90 - 100 - 110 till i hit the 1st 1000 km.

So far so good  Im afraid if i don increase the speed then the engine will be underpowered after the running in. But this theory is based on my own I hav no evidence to proof it

Anyway its not safe to be travelling at 50 - 60km/h at the expressway

Great Idea! Think classic will suit our bikes. Maybe not something loud but simple and neat.

97 to 98 - Yamaha TW200

98 to 99 - Kawasaki Vulcan 400

99 to 00 - Honda ST1100

01 to 05 - Engine Stall

thought the sticker idea not bad too..

What do u think about a black on black abstract design....

not sure if anyone understand me..

If you guys have any idea juz sketch it out and pass it to me. I will try to integrate all or some ideas and then we shall decide on the final product.

I was thinking of "X8 Riders" with X8 in bigger letters and riders in smaller letters. Then we have a Singapore flag above the word "riders". The entire sticker would be slanted one side like in italics. Maybe can try to draw it out 2moro when we meet.

Hi Rasid,

On monday i went to kenny's in the morning. Saw your bike there, surprised to see the new leather casing on your seat. And i see a lot of them in the rest area too.

Heart a bit itchy to buy too. Becos i wanted to fixed the airhorns, I tested out your horn. Sorry ar paiseh. Becoz i want to hear how it sounds like.

My bike fixed with a switch in the handphone compartment, can use airhorn when swtich on. can swtich off to use the normal horn too. Genius work.

Hey if i am awake on wednesday nite, i come to meet u all up ok. I am now trying to get my sleep pattern back. that is why i dunno when i need to sleep.
