hi guys..

 

got some enquiries about sonic:

 

1. is there two models of sonic in sg?

because i've seen on the web pics of sonic which have "sharper" outlook (coverset)

 

2. the sonic use full length forks and single shock. is it more stable than othe cubs?

Yup 2 kind of sonic,but only different is the coverset and the exhaust.

i find it stable but we are not going that fast.....

since the launch of Sonic, its been only 2 model. As mentioned, cover set and exhaust. Honda Thai has just stop production of the current Sonic and what left in the market is the left over stock. Heard that there are going to launch the latest Sonic which will be using PGMFi.

yeah i've just seen the newer version at mah pte ltd.

didn't get to ask the price.

 

i looked at the older one at sam motoring and i really like it.

but i dunno if i should get it.

 

can sonic use cbr150 cylinders and head?

CBR head conversion is very common here in Thailand, its a PnP mod. There are even Sonic which is over 300cc with long stroke kit and bigbore piston and 34mm carb. Mainly use for drag race. It could out run any super car in a 402m drag stripe.

i asked mah motors, apparently its around 2007 bike, registerd, but not owned before.

machine is 4k+.

 

anyways i've signed the papers at as phoon for a fy plater.

The engine sound smooth.

But the speed struggling to hit 90km/h

tuck down then can reach 100.

 

Any suggestion wat to do to get the stock 130 top speed?

not wanna be racer, but living in bedok werking in woodland,

and used to sportbikes.. hehe.

 

the bike suprise me one thing:

no storage compartment below seat.

Sonic's a cool bike. I like mine very much.

But like you, power does bother me a little bit. :/

I can get up to 120km/h quite comfortably, but pick up is s...l....o...w..

Yes, SP carb is the common carb to mod for a Sonic. Sure it will make diffrent, how much? Its all depend on ur setting. No need to use air box.

When I first got my sonic, the carb was tuned for racing.

Haha. A lot of racing parts and stuff, no kickstart.

I restored the bike slowly. Don't need to mod airbox la. :p

My fuel consumption is around close to 40km/l!

Damn when i let go my sp i give everything to the shop,

including my keihin pwk 28, brembos and all the goodies.

From sp to sonic.....

You won't feel any power.,,

But you save a lot more of fuel.......

actually from sp to nsr250 (pgm III) to sonic. Haha.

 

Dun worry, still have the 250.

Juz need a more efficient and reliable transport.

 

I love the weight of the sonic.

All bike should be this light!

i've shared with my mech the idea of cbr cylinder+head+piston conversion,

but he said to get the new original parts would be expensive, ard 1k+.

 

My other mech suggested change cdi, carb, hi cam and pipe. And big bore if i wanted to.

He say budget below rm1k in enuff.

 

Anyone here wanna share their mod or ideas?

Go for PE28, hi-dome piston...let say about 60mm, exhaust? dare to take the risk? CDi, make sure u get the right model. old sonic and new sonic is different.

Hi-dome = hi compression piston

 

PWK more to responsiveness its a very good carb but cost lots more than a PE. PE you can get smoothness and much easier to set. Bare in mind Im talking about original carb, not thoose from JB ah kua lane or ah beng lane...

 

As for exhaust header, you might get only slight increse as compare to full system, but its risky to be stop by TP at anytime.
