okie from what i know, fuel consumption is better den 2 stroke scrams definitely, needless to say.

figures i dunno but definitely more or around 20km/l. it depnds on your riding style and your sprocket ratio also.

maintenance is low only when the engine was in good condition when u got it.

chances of that are brim because the bike is more den 10years old, and the damn cylinder head costs a bomb.

so if you had no choice and had to change one, u spend abit more and get a 220cc one and it fits nicely. (from Serrow)

if you intend to ride long on this bike den i suggest you get a new one.

having to buy tyres alone costs quite alot of damage too.

hey, this is an interesting bike that has been around for quite a long time.

I'm thinking of getting one to bump around too..how much for new one, anyone knows?

The tyre size is not standard and may be a bit difficult to source for.

I would like to change the tyres to road tyres when they wear out, that is if i do get one.

Any TW200 owners here can comment?

thanks

I'm a TW rider. Mine's registered in Dec 05. FC is about 20-23km/l.

i changed mine to road tyres and it doesn't cost a bomb. $200+ for both front and rear. Can't rem the exact cost though. Can find them easily. Just need to ask motodiam. They have their sources.

Maintenance is very low and simple.

Max speed I've tried is 110km/h. Think it can still go till 115 or 120km/h coz I didn't max the throttle yet. That's the only time I travelled that fast though. Normally I travel at 80km/h. If u change the sprocket it could go faster and less taxing on the engine. That's what many tw riders in US do.

A head turner with it's magnificent rear tyre :)

hello... can i know wat other modificationm can be done on a tw? can put disc brakes or not for bothe rear and front? and how bout the exhaust? can change??

i heeard can be changed to disc brake but at a high price..i.e. 1k plus. not really worth it.. just stick to its brake system

I own a 95' TW. Actually in terms of mod there are quite a lot of things that can be done. Juz do a search in google. Eg. Increase the front rear height, the lights, the seats, paintwork...etc etc......Lots of japanese websites showing great pix of cutomisation.

I would say a 2007 or 2006 new TW would set u back for abt 7k; Went to A.S.Poon to ask them.. I got mine (4th hand) for abt 1.2k from fellow forumer 4 mth back.

But i had to top overhaul (piston jam due to irregular engine oil change or lack of it), change starter (suddenly unable to electric start), change oil seal & gasket (due to leaks), readjusted my clutch plates(upon my mech. advice). This is juz for the engine.

These are some of the things that u MIGHT need to do in order to ride properly. It all depends on what condition u got from the old bike. I don't mind coz i bought it with the intention of restoring it to is former glory..lol..

So its up to u to decide: A new one that is costly, or an old one that is cheaper but needs to do a lot of work on it.

But what ever it is... I really do love this head turner!! A fun bike to ride!!

Juz sharing my experience..

It doesn't matter what you ride. What matter most is that you RIDE!!

I did have a TW225e for 6 weeks and have been driving a TW200 also. I can tell you the TW225e is really a total different bike, so if you like TW (I did but now love my XT250x) then try to find a TW225e (still sold in Japan I think). More power, better frame.
