I find it strange that you asked this question... ultimately it's his own deal so he can set any price he like, whether it sell fast or slow it's another business.

There is nothing wrong with making a profit out of the deal.

Reason 1: Too many low ballers

Seller tot by stating at the lowest price and stating that price is non-neg, ppl won't neg, but still ppl want to neg. So he change his price higher and ppl can neg all they want.

Reason 2: Realize sell too low

Reason 3: Need more money suddenly

its not strange.

1) its just getting others point of view.

you have given your reason.

ultimately, its his sale. but if you look at the bike mart, it can be a very new member. i find out at bike mart , anyone can post a sale and therefore, we have no idea who the seller is.

nonono my "strange" is not "why is this question asked", it's the opposite - "tot you already know the answer liao".

Anyway, there are many channels to sell bike. Garage sale here, bike mart, carousell, gumtree, stclassified, etc. Some seller can just register, post and forget, so when they update their price some place the other place may have different price.

Nowadays some ppl like to separate their accounts when doing different things...

Brings back to mind about the discussion about buyers and sellers.

I recently went bike shopping with a forummer buying from an ad post in the used bike section.

The price offered wasn't too wonderful to begin with but in my opinion, you probably can't get a decent bike with 9 years COE left at the stated price.

This has got to do with the concept of increasing the profit (or mitigating loss), depending on what sort of cards you are dealt with by Fate herself. In this seller's case, he claimed that he bought it at a high price and now selling it low as he did not want the said bike anymore.

I gave the buyer my own decision matrix and how much I would be willing to pay in order to get the bike. Eventually, the deal didn't went through as both parties could not agree on the stated price.

I tend to think he (the person advertising his bike for $2200) might have invested some more to get his bike in a better shape. Earlier when he stated 2.2k, he could have left the bike as it was, and viewers could have been turned off (like how I was when I saw the bike I went shopping with).

Could it?

People who put a very high selling price are looking for suckers

people who offer a very low price are looking for desperados

we cant stop them....

just make our price and stand firm, thats all.
