basically, at your own registered carpark (the one you currently have for season parking), no difference. can park any lot including red.

and then for ALL other public carparks (excluding a few listed URA carparks for which bike parking charges are different), you can park any WHITE lot without having to use coupon or cashcard. these other carparks, red lots are still not allowed.

i already changed mine. flat rate of $20 monthly, up from my sheltered carpark $17 by just $3. no-brainer.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

does that means that after the top up fee, one can go any carpark, for as long as possible?

the only other thing to note is that each bike owner is allowed to apply for only one concessionary season parking for one bike. if you have more than one bike, the rest can only be for standard season parking.

Look out for a new red sign under certain bike parking signs that says not valid for hdb or ura season parking. Eg stadium.

Posted

Yup..for example, you stay at block 123 Tampines. U go to your friends hse at yishun block 321..park there without paying anything. Then decide to go to your mother's place at block 777 jurong West. .park there without paying anything. Sounds fair to me.

For other estates outside your season parking zone you can only park at their non season parking slots, so red slots you can't park there.

"The CSPT enables you to park at white motorcycle lots at all HDB car parks without paying short-term charges for the whole day, in addition to the lots at your existing car park"

Check where you're parking before applying...

I just logged into the HDB website and converted mine to a CSPT.

So easy, fast and hassle-free.

I only need to top-up $2.28 for the month of January 2015. I think it is a pro-rated charge of the additional $3 that I need to top-up. My source car-park is a MSCP which I am paying $16.66 monthly (after a 2% rebate as I am paying through GIRO deduction monthly) now.

I think this is very worth it. :thumb:

I can park at any of the white lots of the MSCP (of my parents' block) when I am visiting my parents with an ease of mind ;) :o :thumb:  , without having to worry about "white-shirt" uncles coming to check for parking and summon me and I always have to rush and rush to get back to my bike in the shortest time possible.

:thumb: :thumb: :thumb: to this new scheme from the HDB.

WRONG!!!!! My block got people kena summon until "Gao Gao" whole stack of summon coupons.

Because..... the season parking lots are painted white. Newly re-painted too (from white to white). But they are actually season parking lots! :slapforehead:.

The MSCP at my parents' place has red lots and white lots, so very clearly differentiated. hahaha...

If I am not wrong, there are certain car-parks which are really strictly for season parking ONLY, whole day, so all the lots will be in white, but there is a red sign at the entrance of the car-park stating that this car-park is wholly season parking at all days.

Not sure if I am wrong or not.

Please advise, if anyone knows about this.

Thank you.

yes. there are also carparks with both red lots and white lots which become fully season parking from 7pm to 7am, while remaining normal during daylight hours. these info are stated at carpark entrance.

i think hdb has not provided sufficient clarification on such lots. to be safe, i will only use white lots that have not been designated season parking at entrance; these are confirm safe for parking.

Those would be hybrid lots as I was told. Normal parking by day and only season parking by night. Got fined once for being a day late to renew season parking. Appealed and waived. However the J plated bikes parked there every day and night never get summoned. Very peculiar.

It would have been very worth it in the past where motorcycles are charged a flat rate of $0.65/entry for EPS carparks.

The equations have changed. Now, it is cheaper to park in EPS carparks! Since July last year, they only charge 0.33 cents per minute -- 20 cents per hour. I seldom pay that much.

I don't think I spend $1.50 parking in HDB/URA carparks per month, hence I'm not opting for it now. (Unfortunately, I do have to park in non-HDB/URA carparks...)

It should be. Unless its a red or hybrid lot. If it is either a red or hybrid lot then your residential address have to be in the vicinity. Look at the signboard at the entrance of carparks to know if the lots are red or hybrid lots.

as long as your home carpark is HDB, whether gantry or coupon, then it will be cheaper to go for standard season parking $15 or $17 rather than use cashcard or coupon. meaning if you already are on a standard season parking, then at that rate, an additional $3 for me for the extra convenience is worth it and a no brainer.

Unless your home carpark is not HDB, or it is gantry HDB but you are only ever at home a few hours a day not even a full overnight, then of course the CSPT might be paying more.

the new scheme u can park all day on HDB/URA carpark except some which is stated on their list. You can only park on the season parking lot at your house carpark which u registered other than that other HDB carpark u can only park in white lot

Best thing is, the surface carpark opposite of Cineleisure will also be free for us!

This is both good and bad.

Good = free.

Bad = no lots, so what's good if it's free?
