I"m interested. Can try for a better deal when we buy together.

I think it's 70-80 bucks.

Anyone with objective feedback on the product?

Does it result in better performance without an increase in FC?

Digged up the old threads commenting that the KNN filter allows for more air to enter the carb, thus, you have to tune your carb to allow more fuel in too. As a result.. more power.. but with higher FC.

How much is the cleaning kit? Recommeded cleaning schedule is roughly 80,000km on their website. In comparison, I wonder how many stock filters are needed within the same mileage.

Posted

from the manual, stock filter suppose to clean per 4000km, replace per 12,000km... so that means about 6-7 stock filters gone...

shop A quoted me ~$80 with ready stock...

shop B quoted me >$85, but if >5 pcs ~$80, >10 pcs ~$70, lead time: 6 weeks...

if own self ship in from US, 5 pcs price would be ~$75, lead time about 2 weeks...

KNN is a Hi-Flow air filter. To keep your engine running right, the carb needs to be tuned to ensure the air-fuel mixture is correct.Typically, that will increase your FC. I am not aware of anyone upgrading to a Hi-Flow air filter without affecting their FC.

:btw: if you are looking for upgrades that will "better performance without an increase in FC", then you are better off keeping your bike stock.

Every oil change is approx 2000 km, and 6 oil change you only replace 1 filter.

That will be probably one year

For $80 you can replace for 8 years and by then you will have change to another bike.

What do you think dude

God in his wisdom will protect you

hmm... any idea what is the rough gauge of "trade-off" in FC? e.g. -10%, etc? later sekali 35km/L drop until 25km/L then

True dude. Don't want to be screaming KNN%^$# for the investment lost when the bike change comes earlier then expected.

This topic has the potential to flame into a war of opinions and there's hardly a last word on the subject if you google further. :argue: It remains a case of individual discretion.

Dare I bring up the subject of performance raizins?

Still considering the Blue VS...

Haaaiii.....I"m just a new owner wanting to treat the bike better with performance upgrades and occasionally falling into the trap of trying too hard to justify a product with mixed reviews. Didn't know doing good can be so hard.

Will sit on the fence for now and consider cosmetic upgrades instead.. at least those are unmistakably tangible.

if you are looking for good FC and at the same time increase performance..

well currently u have to decide ...good FC or good perfomance...

ya life is full of choices....u cant have both not now anyway...

wait for the next change...in technology,,,,:pity:

blue VS ? save your $.

i had it and it was crap.. caused my batteries to melt and had to tow it to the workshop and change the batteries too.

the one of the most impt thing your phantom needs is regular 1500km EO change and spark plug too..

Well Blue VS...

I having it now for quite sometime. Initially I thought i felt the difference but maybe after sometime it just like normal. Might be as rest said that it didnt improve any performance.:p But certainly make the headlights shine better :cheeky:

KNN filter...

Wanted to get that for long time but well.... I'm a lazy guy so the thought of cleaning my own filter, i might as well change the stock filter when its dirty  It dont cost alot anyway but save the hassle.

MY recommendation if you are to improve ur bike...

Get a Steel braided hose ^^ Hel is a gd example.

Advantage is that this is for safety purpose. :)

Improve response of braking and shorten the braking distance. I think wont have guys saying this is a gimmick ba ? Phantom just get the front hose will do. Rear might be too much since our bikes have gd reputation of fishtailing.

Get Gd tires and of coz rewrap the stock seat to comfortable butt pain free seat will be other option you will look into.

To sum it up all: just get stuffs to improve the safety and comfort

Next will be looks if you still have spare cash.

Lastly then think of performance. Actually wad for think of it since u having a phantom ? End of the day even the stuffs may improve the bike by few more km/hr. We still be smelling alot smoke from smaller 2 stroke cc bikes when moved off from the traffic lifghts

yar, i also have the Blue VS for quite some time liao... one of these days should take it out and re-experience how's the ride without it... from what i remember, reduced the roaring @ 90km/h... just personal experience, not endorsement of product...

HEL brake lines, already in my todo list... :-p for those interested, can view AHM's sale thread

hmmm, maybe should spend the KnN $$ on HEL (1 line)

seat already rewrap but butt still pain from long rides... :(

usually riding 80-90 only lar... that's y i'm on a phantom... hehee... not only smell smoke from 2-stroke but also factory buses, lorries, etc... some of my white clothes also victimized...

 it won't get so bad dude, the most you upgrade to 400cc bike then :thumb: cruise/speed as when you please.

haha one dude who knows it :thumb: with the VS still a 200cc phantom

btw my batts didn't melt dude  could be your wiring.. my batt should be due for a change soon anyway :thirsty:

FYI to all, my FC dropped by about 2~3km/l on both my ex-Phantom & my current ride when I changed to Hi-Flow air filters.
