In-Human act of this Lorry GV7111T at flyover towards Kovan MRT station.

Dear Bikers,

On Sat 1 Sep 2007 about 1840pm, my GF & I was travelling along the flyover from Upper Serangoon towards Kovan MRT station. There is only 2 lanes on the flyer. There was this white company lorry GV7111T (I think it belong to some "Imec (Ik..) ... something") overtook us in the left lane which we were on and ON OUR LEFT (Where got people over take on the left 1!) using the road shoulder. (Very dangerous!) GV7111T was trying to force us onto the right lane so I horned while GV7111T was overtaking me. Right after GV7111T overtook me, he then stop abruptly in front of us. Our bike almost knocked onto the right rear of GV7111T.

 

My GF was badly shaken. If our bike have knocked on to the lorry, she and myself would be flung onto the right lane and at the mercy of fast on-coming vehicles. (That is if we survived the fall from the bike)

 

GV7111T driver got down from his vehicle and walked towards us. His body language is very unfriendly. I asked him why did he drive so dangerously & we exchanged vulgarities. GV7111T say he is from some secret society (Ang S... T.. (He look like he is trying to pick up a fight.)

 

Luckily my hp is in my pocket & my GF reached for the hp and dialled 999 which was answer promptly. She shouted "Hello POLICE!..." as GV7111T driver advanced towards us. I think she shouted twice... then he backed off and walked to the left side of the lorry. He opened the door. I don't know what he is going to do. During this time, some bikes stopped behind his truck but moved off shortly. GV7111T driver later got back into his lorry and speed off as he knew we had called the Poilce.

 

The police officer who answered our call told us to go to the nearest police station to lodge a case. We roam for abt 15 minutes before we found Hougang Police Centre.

 

We were amazed at the speed the 999 police lodged the case. They called me to inform our case number. They called the Hougang Police and informed them we are coming too. very efficient. I think we spent about 30 minutes giving our statements. The police officer says they will most probably give him a summon. for reckless driving! I was like! We almost died. And this guy will only be given a ticket!. Oh my God!

 

I hope those bikers that saw this incident KINDLY step forward to be the withness (Please PM me your Name & HP no) as I intend to meet my MP for this case. One of the biker was this young malay couple. Think he is riding a SP150 & P Plate. Bike no start FT (If I not wrong) He is behind me & I believe he should withness all the event.

police will summon... but if the driver of the said lorry deny, there is a possibility that the rider of the said incident may have to be called to the court and testify on the case.

 

best is that any independent witness can also go report to the police. that will greatly strengthen the case.

benltk and to all, thought of a tactic to counter this kind of ppl.

 

1) Ask gf to take hp and record whatever **** (Audio or Video - Best, post it here or newspaper for rewards)

 

2) Rider also take hp (Shout to driver, Pai Kia big is it? Wait i call for help) but dial 999

 

3) To deter to gangster away, rider should shout to hp (HELO! Police or MaTa! [hokkien for gangster who duno english] got a reckless driver wanna jio me fight on the road now, i in danger, please help)

 

In result, i dun think the driver is going to get away with just a ticket. He will kana even more if convicted

 

a) Intimitation

b) Reckless Driving

c) Road bully

I think the case will be forwarded to Traffic Police. If indeed they wanna charge him for reckless driving, they might call you to ask if you would testify against the driver in court. To which I presume you might say yes. Do not be deterred by the AST stuff. If he really is one, I think he has shamed them by running away when your gf was calling the police.

 

Secondly, I agree with william liu that you could indicate strongly in ur report that the driver mentioned he is from some secret society. They might just record it with the 'ahbengs' of the SPF for them to inquire the guy out.

 

Thirdly, those who stay in hougang just keep a lookout for the Van number. I frequent that mini highway too. Shall keep a lookout too.

well... i have no idea what his intentions were but i know for sure is not to start a fight.

if he had wanted to exchange blows with u, u would not have had the chance to exchange vulgarities with him

it is more of an intimidation thing... perhaps a case of mistaken identity or maybe it was the previous owner of ur bike who had some misunderstanding with him or his frends

Irregardless if the driver is intimidating or really engaged in a fight, it is still very wrong to jam brake right behind another vehicle.

 

 

The intent is to cause accident which may result in injury or death. This should not be tolerated and should be punished!
