Most ppl cannot afford to get their own CPL/IR, to make it worst, there are not many aviation companies in singapore with respect to G.A. flying. Flying instructors are probably one of the few ways out in order to clock hours in singapore. Working overseas is another option.

Yup, we do not have G.A because our country is so small. And that sucks for pilot prospects.

Grace period wise, SIA is quite lenient. Some of my friends who are there did their 1st/2nd interview 2 to 3 years before they actually joined because they were still serving bonds in ARMY (as in navy, airforce inclusive and not necessarily restricted to pilots in airforce)

Then again, it also depends on whether SIA is in need of pilots or not. Right now, they have a surplus of FOs. :dot:

ok... prolly try it like 6 months to graduation. really huh they have surplus of FOs coz they seem to be doing mad recruitment drive now.

are/were u in the cadetship program too?

Yeah...all the time all the time...well if you employ someone now, i guess they will only prove to be productive 2-3 years later right? So...it's a projection of sorts...may be accurate at times, may not be.

Yo java, too many of my friends have worn a hat too big for their heads once too often. So many living examples around that im sure you have encountered some yourself (count the ASKs out thou, they of different breed), you can choose to earn 10k a month but live a 20k lifestyle or 10k a month live a 5k lifestyle.

Beemer bikes are nice and exclusive...but their prices have seriously been hiked up quite a fair bit (no thks to pml of course) compared to their japanese counterparts.

Owning a bike is always cheaper than owning a car, especially when all these new ERP gantries are popping up. I feel next time just outside your block there will be a gantry.

premiums are always attached to the mark of the company. the price hike could well be, well they are beemers! :D

yeah yeah exactly

thats what im talking about lol

how do you know about that?

you are studying there?

It probably provides the cheapest flying lessons around that is close to singapore (PPL->CPL->Frozen ATPL). From what I remember, I think MAS pilots are trained there. SIA do employ some of the graduates from MFA but not guaranteed, still subjected to interview.

If it is the first interview you are talking about, it's 3 times. It used to be unlimited tries for the first interview but I believe the policy has changed. 1 chance only for 2nd interview, if you fail to impress the panel then, it's game over.

Good luck! Hope to hear good news from you!
