That was my bike some many years ago.

 

It's a dragbar 180 degree and straight. The riser was raise 8 inches high in order not avoid the handlebar hitting the tank when turning.

 

Yes, the rider have to lean forward when riding.

The feeling is very nice I gotta say. Just like you need to keep chasing for your bike. Heh heh heh

 

One of our bro here nick 'hide' whom stays at Bedok Blk 400+... Just look at the way he ride his phantom.. It's the same kind of mod too.

wow what a pleasure talking to the person whom used to own the bike.. anyway the riser raised by 8"? that's alot.. how much to get it done? raising the bars, buying the dragbar etc..

bedok? not too far from where i live.. maybe can meet him if he is willing to and let me have a feel of it..

Wrong thing to say, you should be telling here you WILL NOT get any head injuries when you pillion on my bike. I wanna buy you a FF coz it looks nice & it'll prevent other guys from bioing you on the road.

 

FYI, my wife insists that she will only wear a 3/4 helmet because open face/FF is too heavy, so no choice buy her a NOLAN N41 which has a PSB sticker. Is it less safe? Arguably so, but I know I WILL NOT LET HER ENCOUNTER any mishap in my hands. PERIOD.

Oh well, the bike was sold and I hardly ever see it again.

 

Got it done by a shop call 'cool custom' which customize bikes own by a harley Militia Rider. He's call Toy. The mech is Leonard whom have taken very good care of it.

 

It cost less than SGD$200 bucks in all.

Just the riser and handlebar. Including installation.

 

Yeah, he stay at Bedok. He's in the army now and I think he hardly join us for rides session.

 

Safety... It's danger to make low bend as the posture were not meant for it.

Too much, and you'll touch the tar on the ground.

 

You get the hell lot of fun riding in that posture. Heh heh

most of aftermarket modifications have side effects,

i remember kiamh wide beach bar tends to wobble more than normal handle bar.

drag bars are meant for straight drag race, not meant for long distance riding, turning radius and posture will be different..

 

but if we like the look (cool factor), then have to learn to overcome the difficulities and bear with it..

 

same goes for ape hangers, i really love em' but have to think twice on my everyday-squeeze-thru-traffic-phantom.

just wish may be one day, i'll build up softtail-springer with ape hangers..

Dragonforce, besides bro Vince, another old forum member Valarie also used the dragbars, sometimes with higher risers, sometimes with stock ones. He recently switched back to the stock Custom 4 handlebars for our journey to Malacca (too much strain for long rides). If you want to enquire on getting his, PM or SMS me!

 

But Hide aka SmallMachine's riding posture is brilliant, with the modded seats... Very fierce. Very... bobber.

come to think of it, yea.My poly's IVP windbreaker kinda contains the wind when I ride with it haha sorry for my ignorance..always thought drag bars are good for straight drags
