i got a question. when u finish the smoke, how did u trash away the butt of the cig when u finish smoking? i mean the tp is infront of you, right?

Need to clarify with peeps what is the fine for modified carb? And also is TPs able to see that you have a big bore kit. What happens if they do find out?

Dun think TP is able to detect weather u big bored ur engine.. unless dey bring u to base den good luck. For the consequences, big bore kits are a no-no. For example, I heard a ducati monster 400 can be big bored to 900cc, so if dey caught u for that and u only have 2a licence, confirm revoked. If have class 2 licence, u will still go thru alot of trouble coz ur insurance states 400cc, ur paying for 400cc roadtax and so on.

most big bore kit only ups the current cc 25% AT MOST.

Big Boss kit Issue

M400 up to M900 that 125% increase in capacity! the largest kit I heard is 520cc that almost 30%... standard kit is 440cc

 

M400, cylinder is 70.5mm diameter x 51mm length...

to increase engine capacity... the stroke length is fixed... unless you mode the whole crank!

 

so to increase to 450cc each cylinder (since M400 is a V Twin)... the big bore kit is 10.6cm in diameter!

 

that's 3cm, the block will be 1.5cm thinner around the piston. you think able to hold the pressure!

 

Experience of Being Caught by ROV...

Riding along TPE on my DR650Se (a tall 650cc scramble)... saw ROV parked at the side. next thing I saw was he riding beside me and asking me to stop at the side.

 

Upon stopping, ask me to stand my bike upright. then He measure the number plate height from ground up... then tell me my number plate is more then 1metre above ground. (I screw my number plate onto my head cowl like all sport bike) . $70... when I ask him got such rule, he say I should know... I question him again, he say I should hear this from other riders and ask me to tell the other riders after this $70 lesson.

 

I make an appeal to LTA sighting reason.

1. Number plate is visible and of LTA spec. even your officer can see it from far

2. Number plate place on my bike cowl, doesn't affect my vision, riding ability and didn't cause other road users distress of any kind or affects their ability to control their vehicles.

3. Road block and inspection (support with copy of inspection cert) didn't indicate that my bike have any illegal mod

4. LTA webby didn't have any site stating the placement is illegal

5. Training school didn't have handbook about illegal bike mods

6. LTA officer say this message should be spread among riders. How can this be spread by word of month... Message can be distorted along the way.

7. Can LTA provide a link where all kind of mods are listed, so I can keep my bike legal at all times.

 

1 more appeal, as I got the standard reply, "PLEASE PAY"... I added "If a satisfactory reply cannot be given, I will seek higher authority or press for help" on top of the above reasons.

 

They finally ask me to place my number plate to the original position and go for an inspection at LTA SINMING and got my summon waived. When ask again how to make my bike 100% legal, they say before any changes made to anywhere on the bike, can call to confirm legality if in doubt.
