Hi guys, wanna ask u all about headers for s4, (me riding spec 1)

are there any aftermarket s4 headers which are cheap? cheap as in less than $300 and nt those micron and yoshi headers.

also for our headers, i heard that u can make it hollow to improve pick up etc2, issit possible? how does the shop do it? (sorry but i never see the inside of my header b4 so dunno how it looks like) a bro in the forum said that he did his at a shop in ubi for $30 anyone heard of the shop?

if possible can it be done at jb?

also for the header normally its 4-2-1 type ryte? however, my friends uncle ever mod his 4-2-1 to 4-1 and he done it at Sengkwang - cost him ard $250. Haf any guys ever do it?

thanks for any inputs, hope to see this thread liven up.

the topic that i found was on the pb1 header, but that has to be modded at Sengkwang etc, etc but still it is prone to air leaks.

it is true what blahhh said header mod is relatively harder to spot. anyone know whats the procedure for header mod or which shop can do?

  • 2 weeks later...

This is one topic which caught my attention. Currently having problems with my header (after thinking that it was a problem with my end-can, courtesy of the opinion of my mech and the mech at Unity). Regina's mech informed that the silencer within my header could be detached, that's why there's thing irritating "ziiinggg" sound whenever my RPM passes 3k or when cruising on the expressway.

Should I "tong" it to remove that irritating sound? Later can't pass inspection, problem many many sia.. Or can they weld the silencer back since it's possible to "tong" it. Where is that shop in Ubi which does this "tonging"? Gonna go Unique this Tuesday and ask for their opinion.

Ok.. Wanna ask. Is the shop Seng Kwang, located at AMK Tech Park, a motor-shop or just a shop specialising in metals-works?

If it is a pseudo motor-shop, then maybe they can weld my header. Hmm.. :dot:

yup its located at amk tech park. its a shop which speacializes in metal works...did my IU bracket there. they do headers too. saw many headers hanging in the shop. hope this helps.

cheers

Bro.. My silencer within the header needs to be welded back, any idea whether they do this? Any contact number? And what's the exact location? Scared later they don't know where's the silencer.

What's the price usually like? Feel like making an IU bracket so that the IU is in the middle and not blocking the god-damn speedometer, for goodness sake!

Wow! Stainless steel! Heavy, but it ain't gonna rust! Wonder whether can pass inspection or not.. I've emailed them regarding the pricing for part no: 555640. Hopefully its affordable and can fit my Version S.

do post the price if u kknow already k

for vtec1 header is 4-2-1, but sengkwang can cut and weld to make it 4-1

cost is ard $250,

legal or not i not sure, but since pb1 stock header is 4-1 i dun see the problem.

for tonging of header, can someone clarify where is the silencer located? issit near the 1 pipe or at the 4 pipes? and how to tong it? can it be taken out or cut?
