it was mentioned too that so far about 60% of tix has been sold.

 

I wonder if they would lower the price summore? LOL!

Choi choi choi! dun talk abt rain lah. hopefully it won't. anyway i think fort canning park is better than expo. at least dis place is centralized.

 

I'm buying the tix today tho. hope ur password really works. 95 bucks is really expensive but then for the love of their music i dun mind sacrificing. wish i could repeat history where i bought a 60 bucks tickets but get to sit at the $120 seat. Me and my friend..we gatecrashed. hahahaha......will be going with him and his bandmates. Hope it will be a smashing night!

Systematic chaos marks a return to their orgins. Awesome album on the whole. A nice distraction from six degrees to inner turbulance. Ugh.

 

where did you get your liquid tension experiment albums? Cant find a copy anywhere i try. Those albums have spectacular instrumentals.

 

last nights' gig was really good. Everyone had fun. Except maybe Hyung. But perhaps thats his attitude on concerts. Everyone else was goofing off except him.

 

It rained last night, but the rain didnt affect the concept at all. Perhaps that was why everyone was treated to the spectacular encore. The concert ended at almost 11pm. Well worth the high price, in my opinion.

I've been following DT since 1991. Their first album "When Dreams and Day Unite" (1989) is nothing like Systematic Chaos at all. WDADU was very late 80s metal sounding. Their breakout album was "Images and Words". This album put them into the big time.

 

Their last good album was SFAM. 6DOIT, TOT, Octavarium and SC just.... somehow doesn't have any real memorable moments anymore. Songwriting and attention to detail are just not like the older ones.

 

Best albums in my opinion are

"Images & Words" 1992

"Awake" 1994

"Scenes From a Memory" 1999

 

I could listen to these ones back to back. The newer ones however, I'd skipped certain tracks.

 

 

For LTE 1 & 2... I purchased those albums at launch in 98 & 99. Quite rare these days, but I think you can still find them in some obscure places.

 

 

As for last nite's gig, it was better than the last one at the Indoor stadium, sound wise.... and also song wise.

 

At least they played more stuff from the older albums.

heh... you HAVE to play Scenes from a Memory front to back anyway. when i first heard dream theater, it was with this album. and by god i was hooked. Open your eyes, Victoria. Open your eyes, Nicholas. good god in heaven... that was in 2000 though. didnt think much about liquid tension experiment back then. now i regret not buying it when i saw it. The crowd loved systematic chaos though. Dark Master, my God, I will die for you...

 

yes. the concert had a ****ing awesome lineup... but no Pull me under!? it feels incomplete somehow.

 

 

to be honest, i thought that six degrees is their worst album ever. which is why i thought that systematic chaos sounds very refreshing.

 

it would be "interesting" if they played the ytze jam. i would imagine they would update the way they play that song. come to think of it, they didnt play any songs from "When Dream And Day Unite", didnt they?

 

i guess i will have to ask gramaphone to import LTE for me.

Oh God... Dark Master... what a cheesy tune and lyrics....

 

It's not just the melodies that are getting dull, the lyrics are getting worse too.

 

Compare the lyrics of Metropolis Pt 1 from Images & Words.... then compare it to Systematic Chaos... ugh!

 

The best lyrics, IMO, belongs to the I&W and Awake albums.... especially Awake. Those were good stuff.
