my2sons... hello.. have replied to your msg. Sorry took awhile... Welcome indeed..

Good choice in wanting to get a bonnie or any triumph for that matter. I agree with Desewer, Blackie and Throttle. All of us have tried a triumph before. Hah. Even desewer is missing his triple :)..

I have a tiger and the bonnie. AM very sad that I cant afford to keep both. Anyway, I havent heard of an efi bonnie. Hope to see you soon...

Hi hi...Bros of Triumph...For the NBW, there's 2 options...Option #1 - ride over on Friday evening and get our bikes washed by them sexy bike wash girls and then we enjoy the event on a cool Friday evening....or.....Option #2 - ride over on Saturday evening and just enjoy the event on a cool Saturday evening....

If you notice, i didn't put in the afternoon National Convoy coz, most of the riders that always ride with me are No.1 Working, No.2 Available after 6pm and No.3 Prefer to ride in the cool evening weather....So do let me know which option is best for you, my Triumph Bros...

Dude, suggestion. Uou really don't have to cross post so many thread. It clogs everything up. Just open a new tread " NBW convoy ride" or something. Those interested in it can go in and read.

Hey bro...Thanks but i figured since everyone is so intuned with their own make and model of bikes, i rather have them all go into their own thread and from there, the more riders participate, the better the event will be bro...But noted on your suggestion....Just an assistance to the organisers in making this event a successful one...Cheers my good brother...

You should go to the speed triple thread in the naked bike section, you can find a couple of street triple owners there, but no speed triples iirc.

Good day everyone,

any rocket lll owners here ?

hard to meet one on the road..

Well good to meet you. As far as I know there are only 5 Rocket III's on the road in Singapore. Always a crowd puller. I park mine outside the office in Orchard sometimes and there is always someone pulling out a camera to take a pic.

Hi, would like to enquire what was the model of the bike Brad Pitt rode in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button". Looks like a Bonneville to me. Then again, also looks like a W650 too because of the small frame. But i'm quite sure it's a Triumph.

Not quite sure as i'm not familiar with the Triumph motorcycles but the movie and the bike is starting to "grow" on me. Please advice. Cheers & Regards. :p

That part of the movie is set in about 1958 or 1959. It definately a Triumph Twin, but I think it's a Thunderbird, not a Bonneville. It's not so easy to see, but in the US the Thunderbird was more common at that time. Bonneville was only launched in 1959.

Some questions for the Triumph riders here.. Im intending on getting a class2 bike soon. Riding a s4 vtec1 now....

What's roughly the OTR price for triumph bonneville and scrambler? Im around 28 this year.. Also, anyone using their triumph for commute? I commute around 100km to and fro everyday... so, as much as I like triumph bikes, Im concerned about things like storage and maintenance. Anyone can shed some lights on how they tackle this issue?

I used to think I will get a FZ1 first, and get Triumph after I buy my house.. But I don't know how long I can resist its charm....

Bonneville T100 and Bonneville Scrambler are about $18k, so I guess $20k+ OTR? I use the Bonnie daily and have had no problems. Triumphs are very well made bikes, tough as nails and can usually take a lot of abuse. My Rocket III is coming 4 years old and everyone thinks it's brand new, even though I'm pretty lazy at keeping it clean. Service intervals are every 10k Kms or every year, whichever comes first. If you're into a second hand, I saw a nice one at Mah recently. Because they're so trouble-free often second-hand is a good buy. Mah was sold out of new Bonnies on my last visit and were awaiting a new shipment.

There are two new Bonnie models which don't have the wire wheels. Some ppl have had problems with the spokes breaking, though I don't know anyone personally.

One thing I'd really recommend - if you buy go for the aftermarket exhausts. They give more power and let you hear that beautiful classic twin sound!

yeah. i was just at Mah just now. No more bonneville, except for a white/orange t100 outside mah.. I was very attracted by the thruxton though. Very sporty postures, though Im worried it might be too inclining for longer distance..

The t100 seems more comfortable though. But I dig the cafe racer style quite alot.. Planning to get one end of this year or early next year.. saving up. :)

Btw, any legal aftermarket exhaust for this 2? That might be the deciding factor...

Thux is a great bike; many guys change the handlebars for a more comfortable ride. There's a yellow one owned by an Italian guy at my condo - and he's fast. Beat me in a race home the other day! Love the cafe racer look. Good luck with your saving! Btw, what were Mah quoting OTR?
