Hmmm, 20,000 km a year is approx. 54 km a day, everyday.

On my GPS, Chai Chee to town = 12 km, to and fro = 24 km. So my mileage is half yours, wow, guy who buy my car is twice as lucky.

I am just surprised that for Singapore, 20,000 km is considered low. Looks like I can better market my car now.

Yes it is becos, in reality most people dont just drive to work and back

Unless you totally dont go anywhere else

for me bukit timah to work 10km to and fro 20km but i still average 1000km a month due to weekends go out etc...

If your mileage is indeed really half of mine (ie 500km per month) then yeah in one sense if all things equal, the person who buys is "twice" as lucky

also how long have you owned the car?

or maybe how long have you been driving?

If you have driven many years you will know your driving patterns and thus mileage. If not it may be too early for you to determine your annual mileage.

Anyway, would like to know how many T-Birds are there on the road in Singapore? Or more Bonnivilles?

Hope Triumph owners can help.

Hi guys..been sometime since I last came here..

Been riding S4 since 7yrs ago & ony got my Class 2 (after much harassment to my partner) sometime in Mar. Had a Version S then for 5yrs and currently riding a spec2 but wanting to change 2 a Class 2 bike..My partner wanted me 2 ride a Triumph so finally I found d correct thread under Cruisers.

I checked its website & had fallen for the Sprint. Any idea how much selling 2nd hand?how abt the parts? I bet this is one expensive bike...hehehe...

My concern will also be when I go touring. Say it got spoilt? will I be able to get spare parts for urgent repairs??

Please enlighten me.

Thanks guys......

its normal to be misunderstood.

sometimes, some things are not easy to explain or understand;

sometimes, you are just not given the chance to.

I don't know of any used Sprints in Singapore yet. There are 2 models to choose from; the older Sprint RS with the 955i engine and the new Sprint ST with the 1050 engine and undertail pipes.

Most Triumph riders would go for the bikes which are not similar to Jap makes, e.g. their cafe racers, cruisers, or naked bikes. The Sprint ST looks much like a Honda CBR1100XX or a BMW K1200S.

If you need urgent spares, you might have to stock up on your own as it takes normally a week or two to import the required parts from the UK. If you are touring and need spares on the trip, you might not get them and may have to tow the bike home.

The Sprint ST is really a looker with the undertail exhausts. I heard it retails for close to $30,000.

You really plan on getting a Sprint ST? I've never seen one on our roads yet. Good luck finding a used one!

As for the Daytona, they're not making any more of the 955i models. The 675 is their main sportsbike, and the Sprint ST was also designed to replace the Daytona 955i.

Overall Triumph makes many great bikes with great engines. The Speed Triple 1050 came up tops in the engine department in a recent issue of UK Bike (10/10 for engine) and was also in the top 10 bikes overall.

Yes Blackie, another biting the dust.

Reason is a bit stupid on my part but also quite simple.

The thunderbird being almost 10 yrs requires a bit more loving care than say a japanese breed. Just like an old Merc SL vs a newer Toyota Camry.

And time is one thing i'm really quite short of since I've become a Dad.

I'll probably get a Japanese wham-bam-anything-goes bike just for kicks

Truly, I'm sad to see the Tbird go.

One latest pic for the road down memory lane:-
