Wow.....super crazy long journey ! (but I liked !)

Wonder how long he took to and fro ?

JB oil better ? Hahaha.

Is it free entry (to and fro) in both checkpoints (Tuas and Woodlands) ?

Cheers.

Yeah me too want to know. Rode to Kulaijaya already butt pain. Always wanted to adventure further and salute him :) & it is possible to go far with this bike :D

I always change oil in JB, regarding better or not .. for my opinion there are no issue & it's slightly cheaper

It is free entry to woodlands but for tuas you need a touch n go card and it will cost you RM2.20 (1.10 in, 1.10 out) in total

Hope this helps :D

Oh ya, I have also wondered, do we need to pay at the toll station if we cross states and enter a new state? If so, around how much is it usually? Need to use the touch n go card or can use cash?

I think some state we don't have to pay, you still cross but no t'n'g booth for motorcyclist. As for the price i wasn't sure, i think you can check out the touch & go or plus mile website. Too bad i hasn't travel any further then Senai by myself and couldn't give you a better respond.

If you decide to visit to 2nd link often, i suggest you invest to purchase a card it's only RM10 with $0 value and you need to top up which can be done at petrol station or convenience store. But they do have a service charge of 50c per top up. I'm not sure if cash is still accepted =/

Hi wathell, wow you travel quite a lot daily huh.

Anyways, you travel to Malaysia frequently ?

Mind if I ask how far have you ride to ?

Is the speed of this bike ok ?

I remembered doing the highway familiarization after passing my TP earlier this year and I have problem pushing the school's bike beyond 85km/h.

The handle bar tends to vibrate a lot. Or maybe because its a school's bike.

And by the way, when is required to do overhaul ?

I see this word in quite a lot of the used bike section.

Cheers.

I have been to Melaka for 4 times and went up Genting/KL once.... Will be doing my thailand trip in Aug...

Speed is alright as long u maintain 90-100km/h... No need rush, enjoy e scenery.. Slow and steady reach safely... Vibration only starts after 110km/h for me...

He took around 12-14 hours to reach Thailand, Krabi will be further up....

JB oil is just cheaper for their semi syn and below.. Somehow their fully-syn is similar price to SG

As mention above, Woodlands is free but 2nd Link (tuas) will need cash card on SG side (60cents) and TouchNGo card RM1.20 on MY side...

Nope, for bikes there are only 2 tolls in the entire west MY that u need to pay... One is 2nd link Tuas, another is Penang bridge.. The rest all will have special pathway on far left to bypass toll

Experienced explorer !

Mind I ask if you did all the travelling with the CBF 150 ?

By the way when travelling in MY, is there any precaution to take to protect or prevent the bike from being stolen ?

(eg. steering wheel lock for cars)

Cheers its Friday !

Wah, I didn't know 2nd link need to pay...Hmm, like that can try going through there one day. Very crazy jams at woodlands sometimes. If never mentally prepare for close counter inhaling of various exhaust fumes from hundreds of bikes and the occasional side mirror grazing and stares, can really be quite scary and unnerving.

Yup, I did it all with CBF150, its just so reliable and economical =)

Precaution once would be similar to going JB, always part at spots where there is high human traffic and u can have a sight of it..

Den always choose hotel that have private parking + 24hr cctv or guard to make it safer.. Our bike is NOT in demand in MY so actually its kinda safe. People wan steal, no parts for them to repair in MY also so no point...

haha, yup, 2nd link need pay for both side but the traffic is much lower than woodlands... Can always try use that route for quick pump.. Go in travel around 20km do a U-turn at nusajaya exit and pump at GP esso den come back SG, haha

By the way, for you guys who have the Scottoiler installed on your bike(that automatic lubricating thing for your chain), where did you get it done? How much was it by the way?

I have a problem. I have a friend who rides a CBF 150 and went overseas. It has been more than a week since I warmed up the bike. Now I can't start the bike and there are no lights at all. Brought the battery back to the shop to charge but to no avail, problem still persists. Could it be the rectifier? Or is it something else? The bike is barely 2 years old.

Thx guys.

I'm sure it's not this problem, but just sharing a similar "cannot-start" problem I had recently:

Insert the key, kill switch on, try to start, cannot. No lights to indicate gear neutral all that.

Panicked for a bit (was late for school), try smart aleck touch this cable and that cable then I decided to twist/adjust my key. Then the neutral light went on and bike could start.

Turns out my keyhole is a bit loose, need to like find the 'sweetspot' then can start the bike. The whole keyhole part is loose, probably from wear/tear/locking handlebar etc..

I use my phone as my gps (comes with offline maps) so I am using this mount from dx and mount it to my mirror screw

Hey there. Anyone did a engine top overhaul before? Was it good? Any side effect or cons?

I'm deciding if I should go for it. My bike was registered 2009 and I bought it 2nd hand in 2012. Physically can see it's not in very ideal condition as there're some scratches, meaning it was probably dropped before. Mileage when I bought showed around 20000km.

I've always suspected the engine condition is not very good. Fuel consumption is only around 32km/litre. Whenever I start engine, the sound feels weak, like no power like that. If I don't ride for 5 days or more, usually will have to open and hold throttle to start bike if not engine will die off on its own. Normal? Recently brought my bike to change eo, and the mech also commented that the engine doesn't sound fine when start up and suggested a overhaul. Don't know if he trying to chop me or is a sincere recommendation. It's unique motorsports btw.

When I just got this bike, didn't really care about condition as my intention was to upgrade to 2A asap. But even since, I've already spend like $600 on new tires, chain, sprocket, battery and brakes and growing attached to it. Don't think I can get my 2A anytime soon either. Should I just do it?

Hi Bro I think your bike problem is mostly carburetor problem, try to clean the carburetor and tune correct setting.

Because your bike mileage is 20000 only 60% no change to engine spoilt, try clean and setting your carb before overhaul.

About 2A bike u have more money spent to maintenance, I just down grade from 2A bike to CBF 150. My bike is 2007 model. I feel very smooth and economical bike. Power wise this bike loose.

Hope u get useful information All the best bro :)

About the overhaul thing, I did an overhaul about 1 year ago.

For the pros, definitely smoother engine now, not 'rough' sounding anymore. Pick up and revving is better too.

For the cons, based on my own experience( don't know about anyone else's), my Fuel Consumption was affected after the overhaul. Pre-overhaul, I managed the usual 38-42km/l. But lately I've only been getting around 33-36km/l on average. Don't know whether it's because of my increased gung-ho attitude on the bike ( good mileage when I just passed, more scared, never speed) or due to overhaul.

FYI, my bike is a 2007 model.

Again, just something to consider. Always good to have first-hand accounts spread around right? :)
