that motordiam after sales service very bad.. im still waiting for my original insurance certificate which they said will be available 1 month later... just called and told me to wait another week... own me raincoat too.. luckily i still have my old one, if not, these few weeks jia luck...

hey does anybody else realise the paintwork imperfection on the tank? like there are sand particles and all that inside the paintwork? or is it just my bike?

Hope that every road user can practise courtesy and reduce the danger of bikers :thumb:

hey guys i got some sort of emergency! help! my cbf 150 like got no smooth flow of petrol going to the engine liddat... ride halfway then have a short power loss then continue running again..

it also happen when i throttle up, there'll be a lag before the engine rev, it never happened before until today! it also happen when i maintain steady rpm, then there'll be a temp power loss.. almost as if there is no more patrol in the tank,, but i still have full tank!

i was adviced against going to boon siew. can someone help me out?

Dude,

had the same prob when I got my bike, I went to boon siew, don't like to go there but since the bike still under warranty didn't want to spend the extra $$ at a local bike shop.

What "mechanic" at boon siew did was to drain out the petrol and clear the fuel valve of debris that clogged up the valve. The prob was solved after that. You may not need to go boon siew to get this done, if you don't mind spending the extra $$ at the local bike shop.

:p

prob is when i got my bike, the bike shop where i bought the bike from never gave me any warranty card from boon siew! funny thing is they say the bike just come out of factory, knnbccb when i saw the insurance, it says year of manufacture is 2007! i expected 2008!

the more i inspect my bike, the more suspicious i become. its a 2 year old bike but claimed to be "just come out of factory". paintwork around the fuel tank area poorly done (either china factory quality control very poor or this shop go and repaint). the side fairing doesn't "fit" properly. when i got my bike, the reading on the odo is 1km. is it possible to adjust odometre one?

i also dun have any warranty card, but i thought the one year warranty starts from the date that you bought? im not very sure abt this..

i have not got my insurance certificate yet, will let u know my yr of manufacture once i got it..

from LTA website, my yr of manufacture is 2008 and i bought on 09 feb 2009... saw the no. of transfer is 1, guess meaning the motordiam transferred to me, so I should be the 1st owner ba...

yo bro,

u can go to http://www.onemotoring.com.sg and log in LTA eService using your Singpass and you can check your bike details, such as No. of Transfer.. odometre might be able to adjust but i guess motordiam unable to cheat LTA ba...

Hey guys. I tell you what problem I have with my bike I think you all want to vomit blood already. I met virus fellow CBF 150 rider and he brought me to the motordiam he frequents, even before the mechanic inspect my bike, I open my bike seat and he immediately catch what's wrong with it. I put my wiping clothe there, which you not supposed to becos the air intake is there! Imagine how I start to suspect the bike shop and honda quality in the end the fault is my own carelessness.. Sorry to malign you!!!

Regarding the poor painting quality, I compare with motordiam one, boon siew and mine.. Also roughly the same.. It is really China Honda factory "anything also pass" attitude..

Anyway the Boon SIew ppl are very friendly, agree to sandpaper for me tmr, duno how they will charge but I'll be willing to pay to get rid of any imperfections! Same to the side fairing which cannot fit properly.. They say they will adjust for me tmr. Hopefully my bike comes out perfect after that. It's all Poor workmanship on the assembly line, nothing more nothing less. So if you see your painting got bubbles here and there, is really normal. China standard. Just depend on how ngiao you are. For me I am very perfectionist thats why will make noise over this kinda small small thing.

Other than that.. CBF 150 is def 1 solid bike. I love it so much and I don't intend to sell it, I will overhaul, I will do anything to keep it alive!

anyway i have changed my first engine oil, cannot choose at all since it is free, saw the brand is Castrol, 20W-40. The staff said first 3 times oil change use this, then change to semi (or full but semi will be sufficient) synthetic..

and he said that the bike should be able to go beyond 70kmh, just that i dun wan to accelerate beyond that (for first 500km), i tried 80kmh yesterday and its still okay.. hahaha... will try 90kmh if able.. :thumb:

wow, saw quite a few new cbf150 owners. wanna mit up for chit chat, lim kopi, or go jb pump petrol?? i was tinking of every alt saturdays. for new owners, i strongly recommend u to change ur stock tires to better ones that u can find... i ever turn 180degress jus to turn up the MCP during raining seasons, behind car got a shock and jammed brake wif wide opened eyes. hahaha...

btw pls share wif us brothers abt ur type of engine oil, petrol using and FC.

mine using OWS 10w-40 currently. used b4 oils like RP, SHELL ADVANCE, MOBIL, CASTROL, AMSOIL. petrol, RON95 in spore, vpower when pump at msia. ever hit 488km before turning to my fuel reserve. michilin sporty tires front and back. 2nd set of sprockets front and back with X-Ring chain.

the ONLY ting is the OSRAM headlamp bulb tat i RELI wanted... :)

Hi Merboy

You sounded so knowledgable! haha.. shame to say that I am pretty lousy at this, but trying to learn more now as to maintain my bike safely by myself, if possible..

Previously I was riding RXZ and the only thing I do was change engine oil and spark plug (I dun even know what brand / type of EO and SP that I change; just informed the owner that I wanted to change both).. super low maintenance for that.. haha..

I have just changed my first engine oil for cbf150, it was Castrol 20W-40, the staff said for the first 3 times, it gotten be Castrol 20W-40, then a better grade, such as semi-synthetic (not sure of wat brand available..).. will ask for more info when I reach the 4th time.. would like to learn to change by myself in future!

As for fuel, I used Vpower fr Shell, topped up twice and calculated is around 42km / Litre.. for both times.. the fuel gauge seem to be misleading as I topped up when it approaching the red line but found out only 6Litre was filled (distance travelled is 255km).. initially I thought how come FC so poor… but by calculation, its not bad lo..

is my fuel gauge not accurate? :sian:

been reading the owner manual recently and its quite useful! for example, i never know that to start the engine, throttle must be opened (1/8 to 1/4) bef pressing the button.. when i first got the bike, i only pressed the engine button and i have to tried several times bef the engine starts. after reading the manual, and now, i have the engine starts upon the button pressed for the first time! also, pls avoid using the choke, if possible! (anyway, is this the very basic? Haha.. my previous bike is 2 stroke, so no idea abt electric start..)

So far, my experience stops here, but will continue to contribute as time goes :thumb:

anyway, im fine for chit chat or lim kopi, guess it would be fun too! but afraid unable to squeeze time for jb trip, as i gotten take care of my 1 yr old girl (esp. in the nite), a part-time course and a new job next month onward.. super tight schedule for me now..

nevertheless, nice to know all cbf150 owners here! :cheeky:

i actually dun bother to calculate fc.. i see the fuel gauge at the halfway mark then top up petrol.. i happy then top up vpower.. not happy then top up 95.. honestly cannot tell the diff..

btw i just went for my 2nd servicing at boon siew.. complained to them that the tank is badly painted, and they changed it for free! even the warning sticker that says "pls wear helmet" is still attached! they totally gave me a new one!

for this, i'm gonna service my bike at boon siew for the rest of my bike life! once evry 3 months pay $30++ i think is reasonable lah..

but 1 prob.. when i started riding after servicing, the engine like making this "zz zz zz zz" sound when at slow speed.. i suspect the chain is loose.. later i go check..

supperdaddy, i think it is not can or cannot. it is want or dun want. i first time got my bike it is already capable to run at 80km/h..

think if i'm not wrong there's a small cbf150 outing this fri.. gotta check with virus he's like the boss or something?
