First thing,why you need a bigger radiator?..Always stuck in jam?(Like e.g causeway?).

For me the original ones works best. Why?. Honda engineers have calculate the optimal running temperature for S4 engines. Too hot,it overheats, weakens your valve spring and etc. Too cold, your ride will be sluggish due to the time taken for the fuel to vapourise properly in the

combustion chamber.

What i can advice you is get a good coolant.Flush the cooling system regularly when needed.Just to make sure that there is no build-up of sediments that causes hot spots(its a kind of barrier that prevent to heat transfer from the metal part to coolant)..

But if you still want to go on with bigger radiator,go ahead your money...heheh!!

How often?? What is the recommended usage period for coolant

Hmm..some knows when to change coolant by looking at the coolant colour.Roughly coolant can last about minimum a year or 2 max. But then it depends on how often you ride the bike and how many long trips you do with it.

icic. i have read from somewhere that it is ok to top up coolant with Distilled

water bought from supermarket. Issit true???

Also, my reserve tank coolant level with side-stand on is close to the 'LOW' level.

Shld i top it up? If yes, can i use Distilled water as mentioned above??

BTW my bike is new and about 6 mth old only.

Yep,can be topped up using distilled water but it will decrease the coolant boiling point abit. Your bike bought in july 2007.Mine is also bought at that time (7*6*E).

Ya in july 07 from bike production :).

Any cons for the decreasing coolant boiling point??

Distilled water = Batt. water or Distilled drinking water from NTUC fairprice?? :cheeky:

adding water is to prevent the coolest from turing sluggish after long term usage( as menstion by bike shop) as for bike more than 3 years old, it is advise to flush it 6 monthly.. if not yearly during your full servicing.

and also if you observe that your spark plug is rusty during change, check that the front surface of your block is not stuck.. there is a tiny hole that allow water to flow out ..to my knowledge of spec 1..

bro,...if i accidentally top up coolant above the max level,...is it ok??

i read from another thread that its ok as the excess will flow out from the overflow tube.
