same problem here ... with milage, my bike seems to heat up more than when new ... last time, wear shorts, still ok, but now shorts pretty much CMI in start/stop traffic. :giddy:

i read one study before that said M3 is superior to PP 2CT. i oso read another study that said Qualifier is superior to PP. an overseas forum said PP 2CT starts to slide on track after about 10 laps. my SCPro is good on track, but rain = scary & warm up slow. hope to go TH year end, flatten tire & change to some streetable ones.

any reviews on the M3 tyres for those who has fitted it?

how issit compared to the M1 or pilot power?

Hi Pauche,

I'm not in a position to give my comment as my milage on bike as still very little

But got this comment from r6-forum.com

Yes it's true bitches. I put just over 500 miles on these badboys yesterday and all I can say is, ****ING WOW, Metzeler did their Research and Development on this tire.

The first thing you notice about these tires is just how meaty they are. I don't know the specific void ratio's for M3's or Pilot Powers, but the M3's look like EVEN LESS tread is cut out of the rubber. The M3 tread pattern isn't as undeniably cool looking as the Pilot Power, but once you actually get them on the road you will not give it a second thought.

On the road, the I noticed how much stiffer the sidewalls on these tires are then the Powers. I always run 32 front 34 rear in my tires, and the M3's gave a noticeably firmer ride. At first, this sounds like a bad thing, but once the pace picks up, its perfect. Even though the tire is a bit stiffer, the bike is not upset nearly as much in a mid-corner bump as compared to the Powers.

These tires heat-up very quickly, but even when cold still slide around predictably, these tires nearly refuse to break loose, even when while hauling ass up a 180 degree on-ramp in 58 degree morning temps yesterday. And once the tires are warmed up, there is an unbelievable amount of grip available. I do not hesitate to say these tires are stickier than Pilot Powers. So sticky in fact, that I was only able to slide the rear end out twice the entire (and believe me I was trying to) and one of those times was obviously attributable to the road surface. I reached a point with the Powers that the clutch almost seemed to be slipping I was spinning the rear up so much coming out of some turns. The only point when the M3 stepped out was amazing and left a huge grin inside my helmet. I was exiting a very tight, uphill, 2nd gear corner. I whack the throttle open, trying to induce tire spin, the rear steps out maybe 2 inches and continues to hold the line. As I'm coming up the hill the rear is gripping so much while spinning, the bars start to waggle back and forth. Then approaching the end of the corner the front wheel comes off the ground exiting the corner while still leaned over, an impressive feat for a 600 cc motorcycle with 215 pounds of gear and rider on top.I believe some people will think negatively of the profile of the tire, but I find it better for road riding than the Power. The tire is more rounded, so turn-in takes a bit more effort. This tire doesn't have that sometmes uneasy feeling of "falling" into a corner, or feeling like once you pick a line, the tire just wants to continue to fall over even farther. Once you pick a line, the M3 stays there, almost to the point of being a bit of effort to get the bike back upright, even on the gas.......HARD!I'm so thoroughly impressed with this tire, that even my recent streak of wanting to test all the sport tires as the current ones where out, may be put on hold by the discovery of these tires.

Also comments from our local rider 5thRider

Big "Thank you!" to all riders who came for the event and staff of JR Pte Ltd for providing all the neccessary ammentities for us. Most satisfied that everything went according to plan and with plenty of time to spare too.

Appreciated that they brought the Chief Tyre Tester(CTT) from Germany to answer all our queries as well.

Just my humble opinion---Regarding the M3s... for this price, good stability and grip(comfortable 41-42s on 600cc) and better feel as compared to the M1s. Most riders could tell what the tyre was doing and could hence ride accordingly. Best of all, frugal wear rate!

Please check tyre pressure setings for circuit riding for YOUR motorcycle with JR representatives during purchase. We did not get caught in any adverse weather, so no comment on wet riding.

CTT though mentioned there is plenty of grip and traction in the rain. See you SEPT 24th track day! :cheer:
