Yeah... indeed a die hard Rossi fan!

Sadly, the authorities wouldn't let off, even if they had caught Rossi on SG grounds without obeying the rules...

No. none of the R6 from Y2K to '07 comes with a damper. There are a wide variety of dampers available to fit her up....especially the '06 and up model which aparently is pin point agile but not very stable at high speeds of 220kmh and above.

Radial : GPR, Scotts

Linear : Sprint, ohlins

Apparently think Ohlins have a fork mount type similar to the R1's OEM damper mounting. But the brackets cost alot!

As for the IU, I can't manage to stuff it into the rear compartment so far. I tie it to the rear seat as and when I need to use it via a connector DIY'ed to the rear. But if you do enter ERP very often, the best bet would to fix a bracket to the front top triple clamp or the brake fluid clamp. But it seems to block most the view of most important visual info on your dials for my case.

wats the diff between linear n radial dampers?

In general, both work about the same. Oil is passed through an orifice, thus creating a damping force to aid in the shakes/slaps. But the mechanics in providing the damping force is different.

Linear dampers operates in a lay-man "push and pull" method. Construction is similar to your bike front forks/car rear boot hydraulics etcetc. The components are lined in a linear casing.

Radial dampers operates in rotary manner, turn clockwise or anti-clockwise. Construction is similar to an R/C electric servo (but servo is by electric).

There is usually no extreme advantage over one another. But look out for high speed damping circuits (scotts, hyper-pro RSC etc) incorporated into the damper if you are looking for more variety of adjustments to cater to different rides. The radial ones have a sweep control to further increase adjustments.

Have fun with a damper. i took ages to tune it... and its still not perfect!

Thank You.

reminds me of the time i pillion my fren and she was weain a denim mini.. after she got off she told me my bike felt hotter then usual.. i said "of cos.. ram air effect".. hahaha~ then got one tight slap on my arm for tat comment.. :D

on hindsight guys.. though i said it in a joking manner.. i think its true.. i suspect gers r wearin skirt cos its much more cooling.. the cool air enters the skirts and cools the *ahem* hot "radiator" inside.. muahahaha.. thus ensurin a more "shiok" ride.. lolz
