Wah ... how can the top speed of the CB1000R be 228km/h? My 675's top speed is already 250km/h :slurp:

The bike can definitely go dam fast, but it depends if the rider can take it or not .. I know I can't .. :pity:

BTW this is a new bike, so it's quite difficult to find a 2nd hand one so soon. And if the bike is so enjoyable, I doubt anyone would want to sell it, unless they have special reasons :slurp:

So far all owner very happy and enjoy with this bike, so dont have any 1 or bike shop sell 2nd hand CB1000R. If new 1 albert motor still have 1 black color CB1000R with selling old price. New coming batch of bike will increase $2k-$3k.

I cannot even tahan at 229km/h ... scared leh ... as though the bike want to fly away and cannot tahan the wind blast.

After my ride to KL, I still have the same conclusion .. want to go touring, get a touring bike. Our Street Fighters are really meant for quick blasts, not long rides

If you are looking for top speed. I think you are looking at the wrong bike. Get the 2009 CBR1000RR:thumb: Streetfighters are never known for their top end. These bikes are build for short burst of speed. So don't get the CB1000R. You will not enjoy the bike. This bike cannot make it. Very unstable during high speed. Body too light. Feels like taking off when hit 230km/h:(...

Hi minime,

Agree with you on that. Imagine if your 1000cc bike is light, then my 675 is even lighter! That's why I felt scared at "only" 229km/h.

You know last time when I was still riding a 400cc, I always wanted to go beyond 200km/h haha! But it's funny, after you get a bike that can go really fast, you'll find that the fun is not when you are going fast, and going very fast on a straight road is pointless and no fun.

The real fun lies in the twisty roads .. and nobody will ride at 250km/h pass a corner (unless the corner is freaking long and wide!).

Hi porridge87,

I guess you should be looking at the amount of torque this bike can produce, rather than the top speed. Even if the top speed is "only 228km/h", it's more than enough for Singapore roads. Even if you are talking about Msia, I think it'll be freaking tedious to maintain that speed for more than a few minutes.

So in conclusion, you won't be using or needing that speed, but the torque really comes in handy! :) :)

Alot of people have the mentality of I've bought a bike that can hit ***km/h. I've got a very powerful bike! But in the end, didn't make full use of the bike and don't enjoy the bike. However, the choice is really up to individual. Moral of the story, do your homework, read up as much as possible of the bike before you buy it. There are lots of powerfull bikes out there that can hit 300km/h.

Its doesnt matter how fast you go.... the matter is how fast u can reach the top speed

lets say a fazzer can go 285 or more and cb1000r can go 270 but its take only 7 to 10 sec to hit 270 for a cb1kr and 10 sec or more to hit 299 for a sportbike. the cb1000r will be way ahead before the sportbike can catch up and when the sportbike is going to catch up on u, there is bend ahead and both got to slow down. and hit back staright road the cb pull aways fast again due to the mass powerfull tougre and its go again.
